Ximending hotels & places to stay

Stayed 3 nights from 24-27 July with my wife, daughter and in-laws (parents, sister and uncle). Hotel staff were helpful with our luggages before we were promptly checked in to our 3 double rooms at the top floor (level 15). Location is just 3-5min walk away from the heart of Ximending (hotel is nearest to Ximen exit no. 5). Room gave a cosy feeling, well equipped minimalist-style but has all the essential items for travellers. Air-conditioning was strong, free in-room wifi was speedy and room service requests were acceded to promptly. Would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to stay in Ximending!

Location is good, around 10 minutes walk to the center of XiMenDing, hotel is equipped with vending machine, easy for me to do my laundry before heading back to Malaysia. Great interior design with good choice of breakfast, the only thing which could be improved would be the check-in hours, it has to be after 3p.m., sometimes it can be tiring to wait for so long if you arrive early at the hotel. Other that that, i would highly recommend this hotel and i might stay again in this hotel for my next trip. Room is just right for 2 persons for a standard room, next round, i would opt for a deluxe room perhaps to have a cozy space and bigger room.

Reason why I like to book boutique hotels. You get the luxury/artsy feel, good friendly service, cleanliness you would get in a five star. The only difference is the rooms are small, but what the heck, it is well laid out and well appointed. There is also small fridge (although no coffee facility) and locked safe. Also feels high tech with ipad, can adjust mood lighting, and control everything from it. WIFI is also super fast. This I like! It is also self check in; easy, but need to get use to, but ambassadors are around to help. Located in quiet side of Ximending, nearest is Beimen station (3 min walk) but need to cross highway. You can also walk to Ximen, where the action is, or Main Taipei Station (both 10 min walk), not so near but walkable. It is also 5 min walk to Airport MRT Main Taipei Station so easy access to Airport express MRT to airport but need to cross highway.

this hotel is in a central location, just across the street from all the shops and restaurants in ximending. with a 24 hours 7-11 convenience store right downstairs, you can never go hungry here. the hotel is also only a couple blocks' walk away from the ximending mrt subway station, so it is easy to get around town. it was interesting to find that the hotel occupies several floors of a commercial building (e.g. guest rooms 6-10 floors if i remember correctly, dining room - breakfast buffet - on 5th floor), so you may find office workers sharing the same lift, but it did not turn out to be a problem at all. hotel staff were polite and friendly. inside the hotel room itself, it has a minimalist, modern, clean line feel to it, with no outdated or fussy decor, which is simple and peaceful. thoughtful amenities are provided: safe, mini fridge, water kettle, hairdryer, slippers, bottled water (restocked daily). the smart layout of the room makes the room more usable and spacious relative to its small size. we stayed in a twin room - you should note that the arrangement of the two beds with their headboards back to back, inside of side by side, is atypical of normal hotel rooms - although it actually works out well. the one design element that i felt was a bit of a drawback was how the shower and the toilet and arranged side by side with separate doors. this can be a slight inconvenience for women travelers. addition of some shelving and/or clothing hooks in the shower stall will help. overall, i enjoyed my stay at just sleep ximending and will not hesitate to book here again for another weekend or week of sightseeing in taipei. it is an easy choice for travelers who just want a central, comfortable, clean place to sleep after a busy and fun day in the city.

Booked 4 days 3 nights during our last few days in Taiwan. We reached Taipei from Taichung around 730pm. Good thing as we were upgraded to a bigger room (perhaps full house due to late check-in) TIPS: use waze to locate the hotel. Problems solved. First impression of the hotel wasn't great. I must say looks can be deceiving. Do not expect the hotel entrance to be pleasant/grand looking as this is a value for money hotel. Also it is located at the sidewalk of the Ximending street. Room is clean and neat. No smelly musky odour as I feared it would be. Much more than i can ask for from a budget hotel considering it is for sleep, shower and resting from the long hours of walking and shopping around Taipei, Jiu Fern and Shi Fern. Expected a more shabby hotel but for their 3 star status, I highly recommend this hotel. Basic facilities like hair dryer, TV, fridge, bedroom slippers, comb, tea sachets are available. Pros: 1. Walking distance to the main area/streets of Ximending. Walking distance to the MRT as well. 2. Water pressure for the shower head is excellent. Feels good taking a good wholesome shower after a long day out. 3. 24 hours complimentary green tea (of few choices), Calpis yogurt drinks, cordial drinks/juices, coffee machine. 4. Allow extension of hotel room till 4pm and then we sat around in the lobby with free drinks and luggage space waiting for the time to depart to the airport around 8pm. 5. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Cons: Hard to find as it doesn't have a huge signboard. (but we didn't have trouble because we have a tour guide who used Waze right to the entrance of the hotel) Other than that, nothing much for the price i paid. Except the aesthetic point of view from the outside.

We are four in the group and we were extremely satisfied with the services the hotel gave us. First, its location makes it an edge over other hotels in Ximending as it is in the heart of the area. It is located right infront of an MRT station, making your shopping and travelling to places very convenient. Second, the room we booked was with bfast. The bfast was really good considering the price we paid for the room. We always left the hotel with a full energy and stomach to explore taiwan! It was that worth it! :) Lastly, the staff were friendly and the room was so clean. Would definitely stay here on my next taiwan trip!!! :D

Great location! Near to subway and bus pickup points for other tours. Right at the center of bustling Ximending. Hotel is a budget hotel, so don't expect too much from the facilities but is was quite satisfactory for the price. I do wish they would improve the locks on their hotel doors. It only has 1 door knob locked by a key, no extra safety feature that I noticed. Toilet and bath a little bit small but the hotel room was generously sized and was clean. Breakfast was adequate, basic Taiwanese food (congee, some vegetables, dried shredded meat and some bread and jams. I think there were some ham too).

This hotel has so many good points. I would have given it a perfect rating if not for the useless dryers in the self-service laundry. Positive - Good value for money. 24-hour complimentary snacks is fantastic - servicing different types of foods at different times. Location is convenient, right smack in Ximending, and less than 5 mins walk to metro station. Kids had a lovely time using the bath tub, they were designed to resemble hot springs (Deluxe Room). Negative - Self-Service Laundry - it would not have been an issue if it did not advertise self-service laundry. But because it did, many guests expected to do some laundry there. The main problem is with the dryers - although there are 3 dryers, only 1 is functioning. And the laundry room closes at night when most guests would be back at the hotel doing laundry. The room is quite small, but comparable to similar hotels in Ximending. We did manage to squeeze an additional single bed in the Deluxe Room, but only just.

Good location, a traffic light away from Ximending shopping district. 24/7 convenience store next door. Complimentary snacks, cup noodles, hot and cold drinks were available at the lobby round the clock. Wide range of complimentary toiletries available in the room as well. Staff were friendly and helpful, initiated to store our luggages when we arrived before check-in time and after checking out. Room was small but is of the average size compared to most of the hotels in Ximending area. Got a corner room just next to the lift so it was a peaceful stay, not too sure about the sound proofing quality. Would definitely stay there again.

Green World was an awesome find in Ximending, Taipei. I had previously stayed at 2 other hotels in Ximending but this hotel easily tops the list of my favourite hotels in Taipei. Hotel was spacious, clean and modern with a little quirk to the furnishings (you'll find floating sculptures of hot air balloons throughout the hotel area, and also a man holding a functioning light bulb in your room). Located 5min walk away from Ximending, you'll be able to find entertainment and food easily! A 7-11 is also located at the 1st floor of the hotel's building for any night owls craving for a tasty supper. For those commuting by MRT, the hotel is within a few minutes walk from Exit 5 of Ximen station. Breakfast offered a sizable variety of choices and was filling. The only problem I find with this hotel was its lift. Of the 2 lifts, only 1 services the 15th floor (which was the floor I stayed at). In the morning when guests are either checking out or going down to the 13th floor for breakfast, waiting for the lift could take quite some time. If you're lucky to be staying on the 10th floor (where some of the guest rooms are at), you'll have access to both lifts which could help cut down on the time spent waiting. Otherwise, everything else about this hotel is just perfect! I'll definitely return the next time I'm in Taipei!

Hotel is good. Meet my expectation when I check in. The room is big enough when I make booking for family room. It value for money if you looking for moderate price. I like the breakfast at hotel. Variety of food especially on local food. The food provided is always fresh and keep refill when near to finish. And the cafe area provide 24 hour free refreshment of coffee, tea or other drinks. It also provide free self service laundry and dryer. Location of hotel is at Ximending area. So no worry about shopping till midnight. And can easily find food around the corner of each place. It also 5 min walk to Ximending MRT. Will stay there again when visit Taiwan ltr this year.

This is my second time staying at this hotel, the location is good and the room is very clean. The train station exit is right opposite and behind the hotel, less than 5 min walk. We book the deluxe room with a bath tub, therefore our room is bigger especially the toilet. The room is not very big for us to put 2 luggage flat on the floor, so we open them at a 90 degree half leaning against the wall. Overall I find this is the best hotel in Ximending area among the rest.

Its a really cute boutique hotel in Ximending, very close proximity to all the shops. The staff takes care of you very well, and they even give you a small package that consists of postcard and map designed by the people there. They have little puzzle pieces on the wall in their lobby where guests can express their thoughts and stick it on the wall. Love it and definitely recommended. It would be good to book a higher category room if you like more space though.

we originally booked the diary of taipei hotel but when we arrived, the reception told us that the hotel was already full and instead booked us at ecfa hotel instead. at first, we were hesitant to change to a difference hotel and it was discouraging to see ecfa. there was hardly a sign outside saying that the hotel was nearby. it rests on the top floor of a building with a tiny sign on the elevator downstairs that says “ecfa hotel 10th floor.” much like what i’ve read in previous reviews, the elevator was slow and a bit dilapidated. but, we found the place not as bad as people described it to be. for instance, the reception spoke english well so we had no problem checking in. there was free water in the corridors which was a big bonus. there was even a weighing scale for you to check your luggage. the wifi was pretty fast. we booked a room for 4 people and found the room and bathroom very spacious. the room had 2 double beds and amenities like a 4 star hotel. the bed and pillows were very comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet at night time. the bathroom had a bath tub with hot water and the water pressure was strong. the room was cleaned every day. the location of the hotel was also a plus. it was right smack in the middle of ximending with many convenience stores downstairs. it was a good 3 minute walk to the ximen mrt. overall, we were happy with our stay at ecfa. i would definitely recommend the hotel to people who have the patience to look for the hotel.

Staying in this hotel make me feel so comfortable. It was located only 20 metres from ximending station.Once u step out of the hotel entrance, you are able to see the train station. The ximending shopping areas are only.located behind the hotel. The best thing about this hotel is that the bed room is big and the bathroom is bigger. There is a jacuzzi bathtub for you to enjoy. The room is clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The only bad thing about this hotel.is that their foods are quite limited and compare to other hotel, they provide better breakfast. I would rather you eat your breakfast outside. Overall price reasonable and can be considered cheap for some people. I will wish to come back to stay in this hotel if they provide better breakfast if not I would like to try other hotels in ximending.

We stayed for 4 nights in a 5th Floor Quad room with an Extra bed for the 5th person. This already comes with additional breakfast as well. Pros: 1. Great location right next to Ximending Red House, 5min walk to Ximen MRT station, and 5min walk to Ximending pedestrian area where a lot of establishments are located. 2. Room size is ok with adequate walking area for 5 people still with space for luggage. Linens and bathroom are clean with basic toiletries and towels provided. 3. Front desk is open 24 hours with English-speaking staff. We arrived at 2AM and had no problem checking in. Staff are very helpful and polite. One guy even haggled for a lower taxi fare for our trip back to the airport. 4. Internet is very fast and accessible anywhere in the hotel. 5. Rooms are almost sound-proof. You can hear only a hint of sound from the traffic outside. 6. TV is big (32")and has enough English channels (i.e. HBO, Star movies, CNN) Cons: 1. Breakfast is the same everyday (Sandwich and apple juice). They only serve 2 types of sandwiches interchangeably between days. Complimentary coffee is a bit bland for our taste. 2. The extra bed is hard with a thin mattress on a wooden bed. 3. Elevator is small and can only fit 5 people. 4. The bathroom door is glass with no locks! Definitely a privacy issue. 5. The hot water heater provided for coffee only has Chinese labels. It took us a while to figure out how to dispense water. 6. The doors only have traditional key knobs. We need to leave the key everytime we go out. It would be nice to upgrade to the proximity card keys. 7. Not enough potable water provided in the hotel. We need to buy extra water from the nearby 7-11. Nonetheless, I think the positives outweigh the negatives. This hotel is definitely value for money! We will come back!

Hotel - Great amenities for those staying more than 3 days. Can do your own laundry and big fridge with freezer for your purchases. Service - All staff are very friendly and very helpful if you need to know how to go to certain attractions or shops. They have map of Ximending ready for hotel guests as well as directions from the hotel to hot attractions around Taipei! They can even help you arrange transport to these attractions or airport, day tours, massages, etc. Freakin' excellent service! Location - Right smack in Ximending, the hottest spot in Taipei. Food and shopping is everywhere! Metro station is just about 200m away and will bring you to other hot spots. Breakfast - Breakfast is provided and is pretty ok. There's toast, congee with condiments, fresh grounded coffee, fried stuff, veg, etc. The best is their Lu Rou Fan (Braised Pork Rice). Take a bowl of rice, scoop a little Lu Rou from the pot over the rice and enjoy! Don't put too much Lu Rou as it's meant to be a little salty. Overall - I will stay here again when I'm back in Taipei!

The staff attend to your request within 5min. Greet you everyday when meet you. The breakfast was nice and different sets to choose from everyday. Felt the kitchen really put the effort to prepare the breakfast. In a small alley but convinient access to ximending. Hotel will help to call taxi for airport transfer and day trip bao che at reasonable price. Can check out with hotel before ask for outside bao che.

A lot of boutique hotels in ximending is Öld and without window. This nice newly built boutique hotel has window even for the most basic room, each room comes with bathtub, free selection of movies with a nice HD curve TV. All hardware are excellent and branded choice. Toiletries are Salvatore Ferragamo for the basic room category , TWG teabags. Location is close to xi men ding cinema street with lot of eateries nearby, the walk to mrt station is about 10-15 minutes, u can opt to take a cab if needed . Overall super satisfied stay with suz hotel

Very good/easily accessible location: Ximending MTR Exit 6, cross the street to Ximending, hotel on 6F of 萬年大廈 (a busy shopping mall with lots of shops, arcade etc) so will be very crowded & noisy, a bit difficult to move around with many luggages. Might be noisy at night as well. Hotel facilities: @ lobby - weighing machine (good to gage your luggage weight), Wi-fi, computer usage, luggage storage. @ room - Wi-fi, big room, big bathroom, fridge, safe deposit box, daily housekeeping service. No wardrobe, but provide hangers (limited hangers given, so might have to bring own) We booked the room without breakfast, but was delighted when hotel actually give free breakfast on 7F (didn't manage to eat coz always woke up late) Around hotel walking distance: Ximending Shopping Street, Modern Toilet Restaurant 便所主題餐廳, 老天祿滷味, karaoke, Carrefour, Post office etc.

The hotel is very near to Ximending street, there are a lot of people at night just like night market. There are 7-eleven, food stores and restaurants nearby, very convenient. Xi Men Lrt station is just 1km walk from the hotel, and along the way there are taxi drivers if you don't want to travel with lrt. Overall the place is awesome. One thing we would like to highlight is the helpfulness of the hotel staff, who guided us and gave us a book which states all the famous places around Taipei (it's a mandarin book) which is very useful for us to plan our trip, since we're there for 5 days. We had a great experience and would like to thank One plus one for giving us the bigger room even though we booked a smaller room with no window. We would like to come back to this hotel again next time if we're in Taipei.

Last minute booking a week before & they only left a triple room. But I still booked it since it’s my favourite hotel in Ximending & other places are almost e same price. Reached too early in e morning so I called to check for hourly rates since their check in is too late @ 3pm & they don’t allow early check in for free. I booked from 8-11am to rest @ 580Nt for 2 hours & additional 300Nt for another hour. Love their comfy bed. Wouldn’t say it’s e best since I only stayed in Rainbow hotel & it’s kinda bad & e rest of 6~7 times are all in Hotel Puri.

situated right at the brim of ximending area, just 3 mins from ximen mrt station (exit 6), the hotel is in one of the most-wanted shopping district in taipei, yet away from the noise of it. the team of staff is friendly and ever prepared to make their guests' trip a smooth one. on check-in, they actually prepared a map for you that states some of the tourist attrations for your reference. they also prepared name-card size maps to direct you to the taipei station to get onto the coach to get to the airport. their rooms are operated via number-pads security locks on the door, which is of great convenience to me, as i do not have to handle the hassle of managing the key, i just have to remember the programmed code to get into my room. the room is adequately lit and cosy. some might find the room small, but i'm ok with the size. they do not provide a wardobe but in place are hangers. this is totally fine for me, as it translates to more walking space for me around in the room. if you would like to chill your drinks, etc, there is a mini-fridge in the room for your usage. if you would like to do your laundry, there is a separate room with a washing machine and 2 dryers that you can use, each usage is at the rate of nt30. they also provide hot/cold water dispenser at the end of the corridor, as well as a computer to surf the net. if you have your own laptop/netbook/tablet/smartphone, there is always free wifi in the rooms as well. all these goes to show that they really think through what the guests would like to have, yet maintaining the expenses at a reasonable level. they do not provide bed-and-breakfast, which is good for me, as i would not feel restricted to any packaged breakfast, and i'm totally free to explore the local delights around the area. the only thing lacking for me is the absence of a bathtub that i can soak myself and relax in. one of the most affordable and definitely the most value-for-money ximending hotels that i've stayed i

We have 3 families visited Taiwan for holidays,8-20 November 15. Our Taiwanese driver booked us first 5 nights and asked us to book a hotel from 13-20 November. I was tasked to do the job. After doing research and gathered all the views on about 88 or all the hotels in Ximending area for 4 months., I selected Diary of Taipei Hotel II Zhonghua Branch. I suspected this hotel could be 2 stars with providing guests MOSS burger for breakfast and expected the rooms are old, stuffy and noisy. When we checked in, surprisingly I couldn't find any dirth on the wall, washbasin, toilet bowl. ..wow fantastic! !Next morning we were offered quality, clean and delicious buffet breakfast. ..wow fantastic! ! At any time we were thirsty, we would make our own free drinks at Coffee and Tea making machine in front of hotel reception. Really experiencing FREE and EASY stay. The hotel staff are friendly. The reception lady named Ashley spoke very well Taiwanese Hokkien, providing us useful information regarding Taipei area. Thank you Ms Ashley! Lastly, the luggage wrapping facility really helped us tremendously as we bought so many items to be wrapped up. I would give Diary of Taipei Hotel II a big THUMB UP! I will definitely stay at this hotel again ( room 536) next visit. Thanks Agoda.

We booked the balcony room for 6 nights, which qualified us for the sweet long stay discount. Although it wasn’t the cheapest option in the location, we decided that it was a good choice as the hotel is relatively new and I had a good experience with the same hotel the last time I was here a few years ago. It takes about 5-10 minutes to walk to ximen station in the cool weather, passing through the lively shopping district that Ximending is known for. Despite our proximity to the action, we never felt bothered by the noise - especially since the entrance to the hotel is located along a quiet back alley. We also love how clean and cozy it is. We enjoyed having supper at the lounge area on level 2. The hotel also serves complimentary light breakfast here (salad bowls, sandwiches, coffee). These are usually snatched up by 10 - 10:30am. We wouldn’t advise spending extra on the balcony room though, as there wasn’t much of a view and we did not use it once during our entire stay.

Everything was good, room was rather spacious for a hotel in ximending. The location was directly at the building beside ah zong mian xian. Convenient to get to the mrt, and hotel room was clean. However... as mentioned by a few other travellers here, it can be quite noisy during the day till 10pm due to the KTV one floor below. the music can be heard through out. But for us, it wasnt much of a issue since we are tired enough to just fall asleep during the aftnoon. However, even though when we leave the hotel room with do not disturb sign on. When we get back, the room was tidied and the sign was gone. So not sure why the sign keep goes off, and that the staffs will enter to tidy. Anw, need to bring universal plug when there. If not you can deposit and borrow a plug from the counter.
