“Great value without compromise”
Tucked between Namba Station and the vibrant Dotonbori district, this hotel turned out to be a surprisingly great find. The walk from Namba Station was short, safe, and smooth—even with luggage in tow. With Dotonbori just a quick 8-minute stroll away, we had endless food and entertainment options practically at our doorstep.
The neighborhood truly exceeded our expectations. Within just a 5-minute walk, we found ourselves surrounded by a wide variety of restaurants, shops, and attractions—enough to keep us entertained without ever straying far.
The staff were friendly, accommodating, and quick to help. I had to reach out to them a couple of times for minor issues, and each time they responded with genuine warmth and efficiency. Big kudos to the team for making our stay even more pleasant.
The room was compact, as expected for the price range and location (think cost of land). Space was a bit tight—we could only open one suitcase fully at a time, and that was right outside the bathroom door. Still, it was clean, functional, and comfortable enough for our needs.
Cleanliness throughout the hotel was solid. No strange odors or cleanliness issues—just a generally well-kept space.
As for amenities, there wasn’t much beyond the basics, so I can't rate it highly in that area. But if you're looking for a convenient, clean, and well-located place to rest between adventures, this is a great choice.

“Great hotel in Namba”
I love the location - it’s near Namba-Dotonbori area but it’s not in the very busy area. It’s also near the train/bus station. I like the lobby because it’s spacious. The check-in/out is smooth, reception is 24/7 and there’s an area where you can leave your luggage. For the elevator you can only access the floor of your room and the 2nd floor where the restaurant and laundry are. There’s no daily room cleaning (which is fine) but they give fresh towels and collect trash everyday. The room has the basic necessities (ie. tv, refrigerator and electronic kettle). There’s also inside slippers and pajama. They have few hangers and odor remover for clothes. The bed and duvet are soft and comfortable (it feels new). However, just like most of Japan hotels, the room is small and you can’t fully open your luggage and there’s no cabinet. Good thing we have those packing cubes so we just take them out and put them in the corner sofa. There’s no table so it’s really not recommended for business travelers who plan to work during the stay. The bathroom is clean and modern but the toilet is not separate from the shower area (as per usual hotel setup). We availed the breakfast but it’s the same everyday so I would recommend not to avail it especially there’s a lot of great cafes around the area. Overall, I recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

“Great Value for the Money”
The room is small, but that’s pretty standard in Japan and honestly, it seemed a bit bigger (including the bathroom) than other hotels I’ve stayed in. The location is perfect! Just 5 mins from Namba Station and other train lines. Lawson’s is right downstairs, there are plenty of restaurants nearby, and Don Quijote is just 2 mins away. Kuromon Market and Dotonbori are also within walking distance, which made getting around super convenient.
Check-in and check-out were easy and hassle-free. They have late check-in and have a very early check-out time, but you can leave your luggage at the front desk so it’s not a problem at all.
They don’t offer free daily room cleaning, just fresh towels every day and free bottled water on the 1st day only. There’s no tea or coffee provided in the room either. There's no closet, just a few hooks with hangers. If those are important to you, this hotel might not be the right fit. Bathroom amenities were complete and well-stocked and wifi connection is good though.They have breakfast buffet from 6 to 9am. It’s good enough for me but it would’ve been nice to have at least one new dish during my 5-day stay.
Overall, for the price and location, it’s a great find. I’d definitely stay here again next time I’m in Osaka!

“Perfect location ”
This hotel was perfect for location , my parents are elderly and being only a 3 minute walk to the Nankai train station to get to the airport was a plus along with having don quiote literally a 30 second walk with kitchen alley , Kuramon fish market and the numerous food establishments with in 1 -2 min walk . Welina had a washer/dryer so went home with all clean clothes. We had the Japanese /traditional room for the first few nights which had 2 regular twin sized beds for my parents and the living room / tatami room with room for 4 futons however we only needed two so doubled up with the futons on the floor and an extra large super spacious bathroom and separate toilet closet . Last two nights we moved to regular rooms with 2 twin beds and the room was very very small and you need to navigate carefully if you have large suitcases.
There is no hotel cleaning but they give you a new bag of towels daily . If you need anything a Lawsons store is located right outside the Welina doors so we got our coffee and snacks there daily. I will definitely book with them again. Staff was friendly and helpful.

“The location has been completed.”
It was my first trip to Osaka with my high school daughter, and I spent a month deciding on the hotel. In the end, I narrowed it down to three hotels and thought that the location was the most important, so I ultimately chose Wellina.
1. The lobby was clean and all the staff were friendly. There were no staff who spoke Korean, but communication in English was possible, and any requested services were resolved immediately, so I was very satisfied.
2. I initially signed up for breakfast but canceled after reading reviews that the space was small and there was nothing particularly special. Instead, we bought meals at the Lawson convenience store right next to the hotel.
3. Room condition: The tidiness was excellent at first glance, but there was too much dust accumulated in the corners (on top of the fridge, behind the bed head, window frames, etc.), and the windows couldn’t be opened, so ventilation was impossible. Furthermore, since there was no room cleaning during the six-day stay, we lived with dust (but they always provided new towels in front of the door every day, so we ended up with too many).
4. As noted in other reviews, the room size is very, very small. The two single beds filled the room, so we had to open one suitcase at a time in front of the door, which was inconvenient to move around. Nonetheless, basic items like a gown, hairdryer, kettle, slippers, hangers, and a broken safe were provided, and the bathroom amenities were more than enough, so I didn’t use any of the shampoo or body wash I brought.
5. The location is just the best! It’s a 5-6 minute walk from Namba Station, 2 minutes from Don Quijote, a Lawson convenience store right next to the hotel, within a 10-minute walk to Dotonbori, 5 minutes to Kuromon Market, 10 minutes to Shinsaibashi, and 7 minutes to Ichiran Ramen. Most central places in Osaka are accessible by walking, making the location unbeatable. It was also very convenient for trips to Kyoto, as I just had to switch lines at the subway station which was a 6-minute walk to and from Kansai Airport. Plus, there were many restaurants and shops around the hotel, making it convenient to stop by without any plans, and it felt very safe for two women to be out late. However, when we entered the hotel room, we couldn’t hear any outside noise, and it was very quiet.
6. Conclusion: While there are drawbacks like room size and dust, the excellent location easily offsets these issues, making it the best choice overall. I highly recommend it for short stays or first-time travelers to Osaka like myself.
(Tip: Booking as early as possible can be cheaper, and I specifically reserved a high-floor, quiet room, which was exactly what I got, so I had a great stay for six days. Also, when counting in the Agoda reward refund, it was really excellent.)
