Taipei Main Station hotels & places to stay

We stayed for 5 nights from 12 to 17 October 2014 :- (1) We were so impressed by the staff when we first arrived at the hotel on 12/10/2014. When the staff saw that my mum was on wheelchair, they immediately lay the portable ramp on the staircase for easy access. 3 staff worked on it at the same time. (2) the staff at the Reception was warm, smile sincerely, and very helpful. (3) Sunny, the one working in he business office, offered us drinks while we were checking into the hotels. He also assisted us to find out the hotels to stay in Beitou hot springs and places where we can find our soft toys. He delivered the information to our rooms so that we do not need to wait for him while he searched for the info. (4) the room has free wifi and the signal is strong (5) the room has free mini bar. It comes with 5 drinks daily - apple juice, Evian mineral water, coke, taiwan beer and green tea. In addition, they provide 2 more bottles of mineral water. All the amenities were of good quality and sufficient. Hair dryer is included too. (6) Metropolis rooms were renovated and they were so comfortable. We like the concept of having a window between the bathroom and the bed room. Do book renovated room. (7) located next to the "Taipei Main Station", there are Shopping centres next to the Station, eateries on level 2 of Taipei Main Station, Uniqlo, fruit stall, cookies, clothings and sushi outlet in the basement of the Train Station. (8) the famous dim-sum "Tim Ho Wan" from Hong Kong is situated next to the hotel. It is excellent. Everyday there a queue. However, we managed to get in during one weekday (Wednesday) at 10.30am without queuing because those in the queue were waiting for their friends to arrive. Tim Ho Wan will allow entry when all the guests arrived. (9) check-in at 3pm and check-out at 12pm (10) when you fill in the feedback form and handed it to the Reception, they might present you with a small gift ~ hotel 4-colour pen 😁

The location is excellent, service impeccable and attentive, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hallways are dark but the lighting and controls, design, and considerations of the room was top notch. The hotel is right next to a large mall with shopping, restaurants and underground connection to the Taipei Main station for bus, MRT, local train, and high speed rail. Buses and transit options from the International Airports (Taoyuan and Songsan) both have direct buses that stop at the Taipei Main Station. Taxi stand in front of the hotel is always buzzing - I found a cab the moment I walked out. The concierge is attentive and resourceful. All around, wonderful experience. Lastly, the hotel validates for parking (enter the parking garage on Civic Boulevard - south side of the building). There is no cost for parking. I would stay at Palaise de Chine again for my next trip to Taipei.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Taipei. It's easy to find plus the location is great. It's a good 5-10 mins walk to the Taipei main station. There's a bank right in front of it (but they charge NTD 200) if you would like have some money exchanged. It's right next to 711,Family Mart and Starbucks. Ximending night market is very near as well where we would normally end our day then walk back to the hotel (around 10-15mins walk probably). The hotel surroundings pretty safe. Bed was comfortable and pillows soft. Breakfast serves Taiwanese/Chinese food but I would suggest to somehow to provide more selections. We're overall satisfied with the hotel especially that it's very close to the Taipei main station where easily took the train back to the airport. But the highlight of this hotel is its UNLIMITED beverage. What a good way to end the end the day is with an iced cold drink for free 😀

Taipei M Hotel located quite strategically in Taipei Main Station area, about 10 minutes walk to MRT Taipei Main Station (Red Line) and MRT Ximen Station (Green Line). Use Z10 exit from Taipei Main Station Underground Mall. This hotel also quite near to Ximending area (10 minutes walk) and Chiang Kai Sek Memorial Hall (15 minutes walk). The bedroom and bathroom was very clean, quite small but in very good condition. Lighting and amenities in both room also awesome, the LED screen was very big. The breakfast was standard, but the facilites in breakfast room and outdoor lobby was 24 hour free of drinks ( coffee, tea, toast bread, variety cold drinks) which make it very awesome. The staff performance also awesome, they are very polite and kind to us, and give proper information about everything we need.

Games facilities at lobby B1 were marvellous. Kids enjoyed it very much. Hotel also provided free flow of instance noodles, biscuits and beverages. They have sandwiches in every morning started from 7am, bass on 1st come 1st serve basis. So better to be early than sorry. I booked adjoining room for 4pax as thinking of it was connecting room but it was not. It was 2 single rooms in the same floor but separated in 1-2 other rooms. Luckily I have one older boy to take care of younger one so they are ok to sleep alone in different room. Room was rather small, you may need to open your big luggage on bed. Location wise was ok. In between Ximending, Taipei Main station and 台大医院station. Approximately 10-15 mins walking distance to those stations. You may easily flag a taxi to Taipei Main Station at about TWD100. Good hotel to stay overall.

My husband and I visited Taipei, celebrating our engagement anniversary. Overall experience was great. Location: Perfect location. A few steps away from Taipei Main Station, where one could take airport express train to reach Tao Yuan international airport in 40mins. I guess this is the advantage of an old 5-star hotel, u simply have the best location compared to all other latecomers. Room: classic, authentically oriental style; it is certainly an old room but everything was well-maintained. Large room, quiet, clean and neat. We had problem with the sliding door of the bathroom but the serviceman came (almost Immediately) and fixed it. In bathroom there is a jacuzzi, I love it. I should think it appeals to Japanese guests (who formed a large percentage of their guests here, judging from breakfast crowds). Not sure why but it reminds me of the Millennium Hotel in Paris - both are charming place to stay, though they represent different cities. Restaurant and bar: We used the Business Lounge at our floor (17th); I had a cup of hot ginger while my hubby had tea. They gave me some eatable spoon & fork biscuits I found them cute. Service was good. I vividly remembered the waitress asking the business man at the next table if he would like another cup of hot ginger tea because "sir would like to have a new cup of ginger tea every hour". Amazing attentiveness to details. Buffet breakfast was ordinary but I only tried a few dishes so my comment could be wrong. Large breakfast crowds, please note their breakfast ends at 10am. Service: good, nothing to complain. Many staff speak fluent Japanese. Others: one thing I noticed is their Suite is located at the top floor, together with business lounge, gym and meeting room, which means theoretically every hotel guest or outsider using meeting room could access this floor. This design is a bit outdated as most hotels put their meeting rooms and gym at lower floor among restaurants. I'm fine with this but could be a concern fo

The location is just a stone's throw away from the Taipei Main Station, and is thus a good jump off point to the city's tourism areas and even the nearby provinces since the TRA is just below the main station. The location, along with the clean facilities and corteous staff make their room prices a really good deal. The hotel is a bit strict though in terms of check in and check out time, to the minute. But the staff were kind enough to let us leave our bags at the hotel temporarily until their check in time, so in case you arrive early in the morning to Taipei like we did, you can leave your bags and explore the nearby popular spots in the city, such as the 228 Peace Park and the Chang Kai Shek memorial park which are both just a few minutes walk away from the hotel.

Very accessible to taipei main station. Nearest exit from taipei main station going to this hotel is Z10. The staffs are so friendly and very accommodating. The great thing about this hotel was the food. Great breakfast buffet. If you are tired from roaming around taipei, they have overflowing drinks such as cola, iced tea, tea, coffee, water and snacks like biscuits for 24 hours. The only problem we had during our stay was the soundproofing of the hotel. We heard chinese people fighting from other rooms at wee hours. Nevertheless, stay here and you will never regret booking it.

Smile Inn - Taipei Main Stations main selling points are: its superb location, cleanliness of rooms and bed linens and friendly and helpful staff. It is walking distance from the Main Station where you can get the train, the MRT, buses and HRT's to go to any place of interest to the visitor. Beds are firm, linens are crisp and bathrooms are well maintained. Don't look for closets though because it has none. If you're okay with living from your suitcase, everything will be just fine. Place is near shops and eating places from the cheap to reasonably priced restos are within the immediate vicinity. It's right across the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store and just above a MacDonalds outlet. A must try for those who want to see as much of Taipei.

Pros: Location - very quiet and very easy to find. It is close to NTU HOSPITAL station and 14minutes away from Taipei Main Station and 15 mins away from Ximen Station. Room - decent, spacious and not cluttered. Wifi is really fast. Staff - accomodating and allowed us to leave our luggage after check out so we can roam taipei. Cons breakfast - they always serve pork no option for chicken or fish Bathroom - the shower room is not tightly sealed so the water seaps its way out.

The Y hotel is located in Taipei main station, just opposit from the MTR, and there have underground from main station, so is very convenice even in the rains day. The rome size is ok, and the room is clean but little old furniture, for me is ok coz i don't stay at the hotel for many times, & all 3-4 star hotel in Taipei is similer.I will stay again coz the Y hotel have a very good location.

Couldn't have asked for better! We booked a Family room for 4 in Hotel Relax during our trip to Taipei in July. The location was easily accessible, just a short walk from Exit 4 of the Taipei Main Station, in the building above Mcdonald's. As many reviewers have mentioned, the location of the hotel is in a commercial building, so don't expect a fanciful facade. But once you reach the lobby of the hotel, it's a different story. The furnishings are plush and comfortable and it gives off a good vibe. Room wise, our family room for 4 was pretty huge, with a living area separate from the beds. The TV can even rotate 180 degrees so you can either watch it on the bed or at the living area. Beds are comfortable too, aircondition sufficient and cooling. There are also roller blinds for the bathrooms so you don't have to worry about privacy issues if you are staying in a big group. Location was good, being at Taipei Main Station meant that travelling around was no hassle, as it is essentially a transport hub in Taipei. Just make sure you don't get lost inside the maze of the underground mall!

Great place. Good value especially as breakfast is included. Also like the coffee machine at reception. My room was decently equipped but small (classic double) without any space on either side of bed. Would like to share what I found out about access from/to the taipei Main Station. When arriving from airport or getting to with airport express, take the A1 exit and walk on road straight to hotel. It has elevator to street. Getting lost in underground will take much longer. Note this building is separate from the MRT station building. Best exit/entrance for latter is the elevator closest to Z4. Save you having to cross the multilane busy main road and not having to carry bags by stairs. Elevator exits by Mitsikoshi department store. This access suggestion also applies to Relax2 (and other hotels in the area close by) where I also stayed. I found this out the hard way so I am sharing.

Two nights at Green World Station Hotel's triple room with no windows were great! The room is very spacious for three persons (inclusive luggage space) and the bed is very comfortable. Housekeeping service is great as they would replenish all amenities and even folded all our clothes neatly. All GWSH staffs - receptionists, restaurant hosts and housekeepers encountered were all very friendly, always greeted us with a smile and positive tone. Breakfast do not have a wide variety but they were pretty good (love their french toasts). Location of the hotel is just few minutes walk away from the nearest exit of Taipei Main Station (Z8). It is also very near the Taipei Bus Station where guests can take a straight bus to airport and many other places. Overall it was a pretty good experience for me and my friends at GWSH, definitely would be our choice of stay in Taipei again. Thanks!

Hostel is near Blue and Red Line. 15 mins walk to Taipei Main Station. Also theres a 7eleven, Starbucks, Subway, and other restos near by. It 2 blocks away from 2/28 Peace Park where you can go/jog in the morning. Wi-fi is reay fast, I appreciate it. You can leave your stuff while waiting for check in by 4pm. Cons - No towel included. Had to rent for NT$100 Capsule is not sound proof. You can hear other room mates. Whenever you need to go up especially if you're assigned to upper capsule, it is really noisy, the capsule itself. No water refill atleast. Do not stay in the living area - I have a lot of mosquito bites 🙁

Outside: Good for budget travelers. Its in the heart of the city. VERY NEAR in TAIPEI MAIN STATION. Resto, Convenient Stores, Mall, Mcdo, 7/11 are everywhere. Inside: Safe (everything is in e-card). Common CR for boys and girls are not a problem, its safe, clean, and not that overused. You don't need to line or wait. Dining area (lower floor) was cool. Upper level is the laundry area where you can see the city, great for coffee and cigars. Rooms though small but quite ok. Free water, hot water, oven and toiletries. Staff: Friendly Overall, i loved the ambience and room tone (silence), its easy for us to sleep well.

Travel by train, Taipei Main Station Exit Y17, Zhongshan Station Exit 5/6, Airport MRT Exit 5. Taxi is a good choice, very cheap. Take a taxi to Ximending is only 85NT. Next to the hotel is a supermarket and the corner of the hotel section is convenience store. Hotel also closes to Ningxia night market. We booked the room with window at first but the room we got was a bit small and the bathroom was not convenient to elder people, so I requested to change the room. I changed to the room without window and found that it is bigger. I do not feel any uncomfortable without window. The cleaning and facilities are good. Staff are very nice with service mind. Especially Mr. Wang, the hotel manager, is really nice. He takes care of guests very well. We are very impressive with his helpful. Breakfast is good, the menu is switched in each day. We stayed for 5 nights but we didn’t’ feel bored.

We stayed in a standard double room. The location of the hotel is located conveniently right above the exit Z2 of Taipei Main Station which is extremely easy-accessible to different area around the station. There is underground connection from the Taoyuan Metro to the Taipei Main Station Z area. Besides, there are a lot of local eateries nearby that allow you to experience the local lifestyle. The design of the hotel is warm and comfortable. We were greeted warmly by the concierge staffs the moment we stepped out from the lift. As we had our New Year stay with the hotel, the hotel has also given us some gifts in return for staying with them in the New Year. The clealiness of the room is considdrably okay and up to standard. Something that they could improve is about the lighting in the washroom. The lighting is too dark at the mirror which makes us difficult to groom ourselves whenever we head out. They could also add on a full-body mirror to let the guests groom themselves easily. The overall experience at the hotel was awesome and I would definitely loved to stay here again!

This hotel is located near Taipei Main Station, an integrated transportation hub with adjoining underground malls. Hotel is decorated with modern street art style cartoons that is unique among other 5 star hotels in the area. Rooms are clean and comfortable albeit small compared to other hotel rooms I have stayed in Taipei. Sound proofing however need some work as I could hear the conversation next door when they talked loudly. I booked a room that was meant for 4 people but found out that there would not be enough space for luggage of 4 people and walk around in the room freely so keep in mind to keep luggage size and/or number of suitcases minimal. Service from hotel staff was top notched and they were friendly and helpful. BTW, if you are traveling in a group and would like to save the hassle of hauling luggage to Taipei Main Station to take the bus to the airport, you can consider the airport limousine service provided by the hotel (NT$930 for 1 - 2 people, ~NT$1100 for 3 - 4 people) if you are not on a budget. I find the price reasonable and the service really helps as by the end of my trip my luggage was quite heavy and a chore to drag it all the way to the bus station. That being said the hotel is slightly at a further distance from the hub compared to Caesar's Park, Cosmos or Palais de Chine but I personally don't mind. Overall, a hotel catered for the young and trendy.

As a traveler we are looking good location access all transport, the hotel walking distance to Taipei main station/Taipei Bus Station /MRT airport train very convenience when you doing your own exploring ,as a whole good hotel staff especially the receptionist all friendly . I can recommend the hotel value for money access all amenities , next holiday we will stay again this hotel.

Quite a nifty inn with just about perfect location. Booked this place because of its proximity to Taipei main station, and definitely wasn't disappointed. It is literally at the footstep of exit M8 on the Taipei main station MRT lines. The single room that I booked was also very comfortable - large enough for one person, and the added wide screen TV was also a delight. The only major issue was the hot water in the bathrooms - you had to wait 20mins for the water to heat up during off peak periods! That's quite an inconvenience as the only "peak periods" were from 10pm-12am. Certainly in a developed city like Taipei, water heaters cannot be that much of an hassle to operate?

I booked the twin room with my father for 6 nights. I chose to stay here because it is a good walking distance to Zhongshan MRT and Taipei Main Station. The hostel and our room looks as good as in the pictures. Our towels and water bottles were replaced everyday. Free breakfast everyday (self-service, cook your own eggs) and free coffee and tea all-day. Note that you have to clean after your own dishes, cups, pans, etc (if you're not okay with that then eat somewhere else). What I like most about the hostel is the friendly service and staff are willing to help. I have carelessly left an item in a public bus on our way to Jiufen. They helped me contact the bus station and gave me directions to the bus station. I was able to retrieve my lost item. So thankful to the honest bus driver, all the bus station staff, and of course, Beimen Wow Poshtel staff. I highly recommend this hostel and would love to stay with them again the next time I'm in Taipei.

Pros: - Hassle-free late check-in services. We arrived at around 3AM. A card was provided so we can go straight to our room and sleep. - Nearest MRT station (NTU Hospital Station of the Red Line) is just 3 minutes away by foot. The Red Line is the line that you would mainly use to get to major tourist spots like Taipei 101, Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, Shilin Night Market, and Taipei Main Station - 10 to 15 minutes from Taipei Main Station by foot. It's not far. - 6 to 8 minutes from Ximending Youth Shopping District by foot. - You can use everything in the pantry for free. You can cook or get some free snacks and coffee/tea. - Room is kept clean everyday. - From the tv to the aircon, everything is working as it should. - The bed is very comfortable. Comforter is nice too. - The staff is very exceptional. They speak good English and are very accommodating and very friendly! - You can leave luggages so you can stroll around even after check-out. - Near Bank of Taiwan Cons: - None :)

Had a great stay here! The room is well-kept, clean, equipped with individual wifi ssid, and comes with Sealy mattress (very comfortable!). The shower is also clean, toilet equipped with electronic bidet which is easy to use (even for a non-mandarin speaker). Free Self-Serve Laundry. The location is strategic and central. Walking distance from Taipei Main Station. Plenty of nice food stalls, restaurants, 7-11 and Family Mart nearby. You'll never go hungry! Takes only 35 minutes from airport with the Tao Yuan Airport MRT which is situated next to the Taipei Main Station. Staff at Morwing are friendly, nice, and are able to provide helpful information. Bonus points to Morwing! The hotel adds a personal touch - they left me a handwritten birthday card on my bed and a piece of cake in the fridge while I was out.

We had no problems finding the hotel thanks to the previous reviews. Use Exit Y3 from the Metro/underground mall, and you'll be able to find Master Hotel's reception right next to iTapei's reception. The hotel staff will lead you to your apartment. You'll need take a lift up to the 5th floor to change to your block/floor but it's not complicated. Hotel is located right above Q square shopping mall and Taipei Main station, easily accessible to the Bus station, MRT, Rail station, THSR, and airport express. We took the Taoyuan Airport MRT, Express train, at NT$160 per pax, about 45 mins to Taipei Main station, then find Exit Y3. For our room, the furniture is a little worn, but it's clean, spacious, quiet, and comfortable. Room is cleaned daily and towels changed. The shower alternates between hot and cold (delayed reaction, so make minor adjustments), but after a while you should get the hang/rhythm of it. There's a fridge, washing machine, cutlery, kettle, dining table, tvs, balcony. Our room has a good view of the city with the mountains in the background. Service is great. Overall, we are happy with our stay, and would come back again. Fantastic location, and good value for money.

Booked the Standard Double Room. The room was bigger than other low cost hotels. They provide complimentary bottled water, 3 in 1 coffees, and teas every night. If you do not like 3 in 1 coffee, they have espresso machine in the common area. And if you ran out of water, they have water dispenser in the common area as well. Location: near to the Taipei Bus Station and Taipei Main Station, and a lot of 7/11 near the hotel. Staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful. One time I had a difficulty communicating with the taxi driver I booked, I asked help from the front desk to translate for me and for the driver. By the way, if you want to buy some nougats, pineapple cakes, and other delicacies the hotel has a form where you can place your order and the product will be delivered to the hotel which I found convenient. However, it was too late when I found out. I already bought some from Zhongshan but now I know what to do on my next visit.

This hotel was perfect for our stay in Taipei--the very friendly receptionists had great English and were extremely helpful, the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the location couldn't be beat. The receptionists went out of their way to answer all of my touristy questions about transportation and to help me do my laundry (for free). They offer more free amenities than most hotels I've been in like free water/coffee/tea/snacks/laundry, and the bathroom in the room was extremely nice as well (with a fancy toilet and high-water-pressure shower with an overhead and removable spout with endless hot water). If you care about having a large room with lots of floor space then this hotel is probably not for you (or any in this price range in downtown Taipei), but I never found it to be so small that I couldn't keep my luggage on the floor or walk around freely. It's just an easy 3 minute walk from Taipei Main Station (exit M8) where we had come into by train (and where we used the MRT from many times). Within a 2-block radius of the hotel there were seemingly countless restaurants and food stalls, one of which was the best fried stinky tofu place we encountered in all of Taiwan. I couldn't be happier with our choice of hotel, and we will definitely be coming back here if we return to Taiwan.

This hostel is definitely one of the few hostel that impress me considering that I'm actually pretty fussy about my accommodation when I travel. I normally only stay in hotels but due to CNY period most of the hotels were fully booked. This hostel is designed for travelers to feel maximum comfy!! Stragically located in one of Taipei city central with Taipei Main Station just within 8min walk away and Ximen Ding shopping area just 18min walk away. 24hr 7-11, McDonald's are all just in the same cluster of building. Space inside capsule was pretty spacious with ample power points and lightings. The bedding were fabulous with thick mattress and decent quilt cover. Locker were spacious enough to probably fit in any standard size luggage. Toilets were sufficient, spacious and decently clean. Toiletries like toothbrush, toothpaste and towel are all provided. Friendly chamber maid do ur beds daily. Staffs were knowledgable but could have smile more. Overall a very good experience with the hostel. Would definitely return again only if there is a time again when all hotels are fully booked. Well done Bouti City Hostel!! You have exceeded my expectations!!
