Michigan hotels & accommodations
I reserved and paid for this room for a family friend who agreed to make this stopover to escort my granddaughter (16) from Michigan to Kansas City for a visit. After a horrible day of delayed flights, my friend arrived at the hotel around 10:30 or 11:00 p.m., exhausted, and found that the toilet didn't work in her room! I paid a LOT of money for this room, in an u...
The location is great, it makes up for the fact that the hotel needs serious updating. But for the money you can’t beat that you can walk to all places downtown. The pool area is nice, bar is decent.
Staff is friendly, especially the Indian manager. They always greet with you when seeing you at the elevators. Room is clean but the bed and comfort have strong smell of disinfectant, which means cleanliness I think... I like the breakfast they provide: oatmeal, grits, scramble eggs, bacons, sausages, toasts, fried potatoes... Overall, it’s a good experience of staying...
Our honeymoon could not have been better. We were placed close to almost everything we wanted to do, only 20 minute drive at most, and the staff were excelent. The only reason I mark a few stars off was the AC broke our last night. While this did not altogether ruin the trip it was rather inconvenient as it got rather hot that night. It was a bit pricey considering the...
I knew upon arrival, that this stay would be pleasing. It was! I would stay at this hotel again. I am a very clean person with somewhat picky requirements. This hotel gets 4 stars from me. Breakfast was hot and tasty. Rooms were clean and bed was comfy! Good job Best Western!
Room was very good; close to city center
It was a great room at a great price. If there are tables and chairs available in the pool area why not have them available for each of the rooms with access to the pool. We were there for nine nights and not once was a table and chairs set available for my family to enjoy the pool area. Also, what do we do with all of the large pizza boxes? There are no containers...
We always book our hotel in Birch Run and we were a little confused whether it actually was Best Western or Magnuson Hotel. I asked the lady at the front counter and she did tell us, that Magnuson was not part of Best Western. We had a great stay, everything was clean and the room was nice. If and when we go again, we will definitely book at Magnuson.
We will be back as this was the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at with so much class in a beautiful park-like setting. Everything was beyond perfect as we celebrated our 32 anniversary! We had a huge terrace King-size room overlooking Paint Creek, restuarant & paved walking trail. Room size was xxxl. Marble bathroom with glass walkin shower. Seperate bar area. Staff ...
We enjoyed a nice stay at the hotel. We were very pleased with the food from the restaurant at the the hotel.
Very nice and clean older hotel with a lot of charm. Staff was very nice and helpful with suggestions of what to do and where to go and also helped us find some very good restaurants.
As I said, first time out in USA and the Best Western Lapeer Inn can offer to me is the comfort of a home away from home.
Need to rehang blow dryer, etc so you don't have to use it with the wall hook hanging off the cord.
Price reflects this is a basic hotel, but fine for a one night stay. Breakfast was an environmental disaster, everything was unneccesarily plastic and disposable. It made me feel uncomfortable eating it.
From the complimentary beverages on check in to the friendly, courteous staff on hand, the gourmet dining at Relish, soothing hot tub, pool and gym facilities, our stay was exceptional and would rate 5 stars! Meg, Lauren, AJ and numerous others catered to our every need and were friendly and professional. We highly recommend this property and look forward to our next v...
Very nice hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms and premises were very clean and well maintained. The pool and hot tub were sparkling clean. The location was convenient to University of Michigan North Campus, with plenty of shopping and amenities close by. Our room was completely quiet - I never heard another person. I would definitely stay here again.
Booked a room with two bed for two days. Arrived at the hotel and the staff informs me they don’t have two bed just one queen. Bed wasn’t that comfortable.
Rooms were rough. Beds left a lot to be desired. Sheets were thin and cheap anf comforter thin. Pillows were small and buckets in the hallway to catch water. Staff was nice and breakfast was typical hotel waffles cereal and yogurt. At one time it was nice but seems like current owners have cheaped out in an effort to squeeze every last penny out.
There 3 adults and 2 children. Happy Hour for the adults and popcorn and soda for children, plus a buffet of chicken fingers, 2 soups, pasta, salad bar and chips and salsa all Free! Free breakfast for overnight guests. Great value for a place to stay in Frankenmuth Michigan.
My suggestion would be to keep the pet travelers at the end of the building. Wasn’t fun waking up in middle of the night to barking in the next room & owners screaming at the dog to shut up. —-made it difficult to get our children & ourselves back to sleep. I will definitely learn to request that we not be roomed near any guests with pets. Other than that, room wa...
Great place to stay! Great breakfast and the pool was awesome! The bed was a bit hard. I was happy to see security everywhere. Felt very safe. The restaurant next door had great food and lots of area brews on tap.
We had 2 beds in the room and it had a Jacuzzi tub-I would expect that in a room with a king for a romantic couple. It was on the 3rd floor and the hotel has no elevators. I didn't even know there was a beachfront until I walked around one of the other buildings and saw it. Only 1 building has a beach front view and it blocks the view for everyone else. The break...
Located blocks away from the event we were attending which made it perfect for the night. Easiest check in I have ever had. Clean rooms, will definitely stay here again
Had to stay one night in Detroit and be back at the airport by 10am the next day. This was the perfect place for that. Free shuttle service to and from the airpot (10 minutes) Checked in around 6 pm. Had a nice meal at the restaurant and enjoyed a relaxing evening in my room. Staff were friendly and efficient. Checked in on me to see if there was anything I needed once...
Although there is no elevator, it was perfect for our weekend trip. It was very clean, nice decor, typical breakfast, & fantastic indoor pool! My kids loved it. The staff was fantastic!! Went out of their way to meet every need.
I booked this place because we wanted to check out Henry Ford museum. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised how close it was to the museum and the location was convenient close to a mall for shopping and food. The room was a nice size and clean. Breakfast was good with good choices. We purchased our museum tickets from the hotel and it saved us a few dollars, plus...
Very clean, great quality rooms for the price. Staff was friendly and they had good breakfast options - more than similarly priced hotels. Overall we had a fantastic experience once we switched to this hotel!
Excellent value for the money...great breakfast and the staff were amazing. The view is gorgeous...being right on the water....and shuttles to the ferry and the casino were available too!
We stayed 2 nights when we were in town for a festival. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. However, we always stay out near the airport when we come to town. We have stayed in several of the nearby hotels. We've always wanted to stay at the Doubletree because of where it's located on 28th St. Its usually priced much higher then the other hotels in the area...
The rooms are a little pricy but, they are clean. This is the third time I have stayed at this location and each time, the rooms were clean and comfortable.
Cheap places to stay in Michigan
Never used
my wife and i had a nice stay here clean room great service bed comfortable - for the price a nice stay - breakfast was ok considering the cheap price was very clean will stay again
The staff is always professional and courteous. I've been a guest 5 times in 3 years and always receive outstanding service.
I booked the room for my son as I was in the emergency room at UofM hospital. Upon his arrival I asked how was the room. He told me it needed to be updated and some of the molding at the baseboard was falling off. He stated the room had a funny odor to it. I have stayed in many hotels and at one point Days Inn was a favorite. I'm sad to say that for as much as I come t...
It was a Pleasent stay. The only things I didn't really care for were that you couldn't close the draps they have open on each end I guess for show. They only had these whimsical see through curtains up. I felt anyone outside could see in. We had to rig the draps across the curtains and pin them shut in order to feel comfortable. Also, the tv was really fuzzy and made ...
The room was very clean but the shower curtains didn’t do much to prevent water going onto the floor from the shower. We had to use their towels to clean up all the water. Other than that it is a great location, no bugs that we noticed, and free coffee in the morning. The walls are thin and we did get woke up to the sounds of “passion” in the middle of the night but it...
Clean bedding and towels. Walls could be a bit cleaner. Nice breakfast. We ended up staying a extra night. Clean pool.
the keys to the doors did not work they had to let us in our rooms with there key.
Was on day 2 of week long stay. Manager stated i was smoking in room , when i wasn't and demanded i pay a $200 cleaning fee. When i refused he demanded i leave with no refund for unused days.
Booked a room with two bed for two days. Arrived at the hotel and the staff informs me they don’t have two bed just one queen. Bed wasn’t that comfortable.
This was the second time in a row that we had a barking dog in the next room. This happened last year too. It's quite annoying when you are trying to sleep. We didn't complain because what would they do if the owners weren't there. How do we avoid this happening next year? Should we book somewhere else?
I was skeptical about the price, only $48 for a night at a hotel. But I was desperate, having just come off of two consecutive international flights, exhausted, and arriving in Detroit at 1am. I figured anything that allowed me to lay down and sleep would be good. I was very pleasantly surprised to have been picked up within 10 minutes by the free hotel shuttle, was ch...
I have been going there for the past 10 years. They are letting the hotel run down. Housekeeping is great and staff is great. They need to update and fix things. Our sink was slow to drain. The bath tub and toilet in the same room with sink outside the bathroom as you walk into your room. very small. The breakfast says all star. That is not true. They need to revamp w...
Agoda.com is not good for anyone to use if you want the value for your money and don't want to be ripped off like I was. I will recommend everyone to go to Booking.com and they will help you with your reservation cars taxis and more. These people have stolen my money gave me a fake booking number and refused to give me a refund I had to go to my bank to show them evide...
WE WERE ON A 10 DAY "PURE MICHIGAN" TOUR OF THE ENTIRE STATE. WE FLEW INTO FLINT AND STAYED HERE ON OUR FIRST NIGHT AND WERE SO PLEASED THAT WE BOOKED IT FOR OUR FINAL NIGHT FOR OUR FLIGHT BACK HOME. WE WERE SCHEDULED FOR A VERY EARLY FLIGHT OUT ON OUR FINAL DAY SO WE RETURNED OUR RENTAL CAR THE NIGHT BEFORE AND USED THE SHUTTLE SERVICE AT THE HOTEL. THEY EVEN OFFER...
When I booked this hotel, I did it because it was priced like a budget hotel, and it had two queen beds. I was a little put off by the reviews, but from what I was looking at, there wasn't much else at this price so I took a gamble. It paid off. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, WiFi was good, pool area was good. There were areas for improvement, but they were ...
The price for this room I’m sure was inflated as it was the Tulip Festival, which is shameful considering how dirty and outdated this place is. I felt robbed paying what I did for the state of the rooms and the facility. The bathroom was filthy (grout full of mold), the carpet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since it was put in, the comforter was dirty, the pillows w...
Always clean, close enough to all the sites. Great staff.
This hotel is always accommodating any time we stay here. We like it so much, we stay here every year for our get togethers. Staff is very friendly! Easy on and off the highway access next a Cracker Barrel restaurant. Close enough to bigger attractions without being too pricey.
Very clean, great quality rooms for the price. Staff was friendly and they had good breakfast options - more than similarly priced hotels. Overall we had a fantastic experience once we switched to this hotel!
The best thing about the hotel was coffee and tea service for 24 hours. It was noisy, people were on the phone all night talking loudly and smoking. I realised that the housekeepers were smoking in my room while I was out. I found out from the smell and burn stain on the blanket. One young receptionist arabic boy was very rude. He kept disturbing me while I was making ...
I stay here everytime I visit TC. Basic, clean, good area, breakfast, nice staff.

I only stayed two nights. The second night it snowed about 3 or 4 inches. The man shoveling the snow volunteered to clean the snow off my car. The motel is good for it's age. The pool was good and the breakfast is in its own room, like a small restaurant. The location is great! I would recommend it as a place to stay, they accept pets, so that is a great plus.
Staff refused to accommodate person with mobility issue even though 1st floor rooms were available because booking was made through agoda and not the facility directly. - They lose money
The motel is very cheap and the accommodation shows it. But... I was so surprised to find a huge whirlpool tub in the room. That was the big plus and the main reason I would stay there again. The staff was very pleasant.
Breakfast is amazing. Plenty space in room. Friendly staff.
I've used this hotel several times when I had an overnight layover. It's comfortable and convenient to the airport. It also has a sandwich shop in the gas station across the street and a Big Boy restaurant within walking distance. It's certainly not a luxury hotel, but it's perfect for a value-conscious overnight layover.
The shower leaked from the faucet while using the shower.Water was standing in the tub while showering. Bathroom had mold on the floor by the tub. Other than that room was clean. Could have added another fruit to breakfast like a banana. The management was very pleasant, business like and pleasant.

The hotel was very nice and Kris at check in was very helpful. I was disappointed that they didn’t offer a late check out considering it was marathon weekend. Most hotels offer an earlier breakfast and an hour later check out when there is a marathon being held. I called the hotel after the run and was told they wouldn’t do it. Other than that, the facility was great...
We were there for a wedding weekend &very disappointed by the service &lack of attention to detail. Mimosas were ordered in advance to the bride's room did not arrive, finally delivered after two calls, having somehow forgotten. The bride & groom arrived back to the hotel & their suite had not been cleaned, beds unmade, dirty towels etc... This was asked of the fron...
Everything went well except for the MEAN security officer going into the airport. I was told he was always like that! But makes the hotel look bad since he made me so upset and he was just RUDE.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Westin. It was affordable and the staff was very helpful and courteous. Our room was spacious and clean. We accessed the gym as well which was large and clean as well. We were close to the downtown venues as well. Great time spent at the Westin.
Booked with Agoda with no breakfast and need to pay $14 for breakfast, if I book on its own websit, only $10 more for two... receptions said I cannot upgrade since I booked with Agoda. I will definitely check its own website before confirm the booking. By the way, the room rate was same and I did not save any with Agoda...
For $300 a night, and 4 star, there was no mini-bar, no bell service, no concierge, and the lifts are individual, so a really inefficient way of using them. We enjoyed our stay but the beds were too soft and pillows too high. It was right next to the marina we were using, but for what we paid, it was not worth it.
My stay at the Marv Herzog was very nice. The location was very nice - right in the heart of Frankenmuth. It was easy to walk to all the stores and sights from this hotel. Also, there was free underground parking. The hotel itself was very quaint and cozy. It was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The included happy hour with free snacks, wine and beer...
The hallway needs carpet/paint, but the room was great! Large, fully equipped and great view!!!!(other than the recliner felt broke, so didn’t use it)
