Iowa State hotels & accommodations
The staff was happy, friendly & professional. Breakfast smoothies were a great surprise.. I stayed at Hilton Gardens Jordan Creek on our return trip home so to be closer to Jordan Creek but that was a mistake! Wish I had stayed here again!!
The entrance to the hotel from the main road is not lighted making it hard to see at night. Walls are thin enough to hear your neighbors partying all night, which happened one of the nights I was there.
We booked expecting a fun indoor water park, it didn't exist! They only had a pool. The water temperature was so cold my grandsons lips & mouth turned blue. Complained to the front desk, was told the temperature couldn't be changed. The WIFI did not work at all, no signal & poor signal was all we could get. Positives: rooms were clean. (Except for the dirty old body ...
It was very handy to where I was going, as I came to Dubuque for a funeral. And it was available and affordable on short notice.
It's a fine place to stay if you can get the room for a good price. The building could use a bit of work though. I had a room facing the freeway, and the noise came through the old windows with ease. There were a few other minor things, but overall it was fine.
Very clean! A nice breakfast too. Close to Iowa State. I would definitely stay here again!!
This hotel was excellent for the money. That being said, I will state that the rooms all face the pool atrium and while we were there, there was a family reunion happening, so the pool area was very noisy and busy with splashing children. I didn't lose any sleep, but I would hesitate to enthusiastically recommend this property if you are simply a couple traveling wit...
Requested handicap room, room was nice but on 5th floor with tub and no grab bars. Staff was friendly room was clean but for the cost a little disappointed.
The toilets need to be replaced. They are too small and too low to the ground. Other than that everything is good.
Seemed like a newer hotel that was well appointed. The hot tub and pool were great, and I enjoyed the fitness center(very small- but had what I needed). The morning breakfasts were tasty, the rooms were comfortable, and the linens were clean/pretty good quality. I also appreciated the cookies and coffee that were available in the lobby. The only cons: 1.) While it wa...
The staff here are down to earth & very kind/professional. Rooms were very clean & vibes were great. Breakfast is what you see @ most 3-4 star hotels. Lots of variety. Fruit, yogurt, breads/bagels, a few popular cereal, waffels & more.
Since the room had roaches and all hotels in Coralville and Iowa City were sold out we had to travel to a nearby town to stay.
Yes, this property could use some updates - new drapes, more outlets for electronics, etc., but overall this is a great hotel. It is very clean, the room was spacious, the bed was comfy, the staff is simply amazing, and the location is ideal. (The coffee in the lobby area is also very good for those who are coffee-lovers like myself.) This is truly a bargain and the ...
Very pleasant stay. Booked a room for our return trip on checkout. Very dog friendly. Staff was great. Breakfast bar very well set up. Bed was great and was the view of the river. We had a beautiful sunrise view.
We were pleasantly surprised by this Hotel, doesn’t look much upon arrival, but once you step inside it’s fantastic Super close to the airport, less than 5 minute drive, heaps of parking Awesome pool area Large breakfast area, food was ok, struggled to get hot water and hot food, maybe just unlucky with times we went Laundry was great and easy to use the machines Best...
Travelodge Iowa City is an old hotel. When I lived in Iowa City in the 60's, 70's and early 80's it was the Howard Johnson Motor Lodge. Since then it has undergone several rounds of renovations. The current status is "comfortably worn", though the rooms have been updated. I stayed for 5 days in October, 2017. My room was very comfortable, with a flat screen HDTV, a...
I was on the 1st floor. The only issue is people waking upstairs and the TV speaker was going out. Other than that It was a very nice stay
Had issues with our first room. Bathroom had a leak in it. Tiles fell down into shower. Rooms are next to pool so u listen to loud people from about 9 am to 11 pm. No quiet time you can hear everything in on outside ur room. Including drunk people.
Daytime front staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had quite a range of choices, including hot foods.
We stayed Thanksgiving night. Had a great room overlooking the river, enjoyed happy hour and the big breakfast, as well as the hot tub. Facilities were wonderful and the staff were very gracious.
A very nice new and clean hotel with spacious room and bathroom. Our kids loved it the moment we entered the lobby. Very welcoming room layout and comfortable beds. There is a coin laundry on one of the floors which was very handy. Chain restaurants are nearby.
We came with three other families, all of them staying in another hotel. We were the only ones with small kids (ages 1 and 4) so we were concerned with the depth of the pool. This was the only one not over their heads so we chose to stay here and meet up with the others for our activities. I would stay here again next time. The pool was a very good size and perfect for...
Facility was very nice, clean, and enjoyable! However, the soap provided for washing hands, bathing, and shampoo was totally unusable and ineffective! Do you understand where you are and what you have to do to substitute for it when you find out the soap will not foam?
Excellent. I always pick this hotel when my traveling brings me to the area. Excellent value!!!
We spent the night as our girl had an doctor appointment the next day at Iowa City, Children's Hospital. First off we booked online, which was a great rate! Motel with pool/waterpark, great for teens. Only when we got there I discovered why the rate was great, if the girls wanted to swim, I had to pay another $20! Fine I payed it. Our room was clean enough, but nothi...
We had stayed here for 3 nights for a wedding close by. Hotel is fine, the breakfast is not so well organized and has very limit options. Further the room is fine and big. Way too pricy for what they offer, might not be better hotels to find there.
Breakfast was awesome, Room was cozy but heater was loud, but overall nice homely feel. Staff were incredibly friendly. Could use a water fountain but sink water was tasty.
The people made you welcomed friendly and went out of there way to help you in any way they could will definitely be back
Lack of equipment inspection
The Apple Tree Inn is true to the pictures. The Inn is old, and it shows, but it is clean and tastefully decorated. We stayed one night in Indianola on our way to Minneapolis, enjoying the beautiful town square and a great dinner at Winn's. I definitely recommend this hotel, because the price is right, and it did not disappoint. We did not have the free breakfast, so I...

Great clean big room, Nice staffs, Fast Internet.
First night staff lady was super friendly and amazing, Thursday March 8th in to Friday. The cleaning lady that Friday did a wonderful job and she was very friendly to talk with. I have no complaints aboutour stay. Full directv cable was great. Got what we expected for what we paid.
Room had peeling ceiling and felt cramped. The room was on the 1st floor. The second floor room I had was better.

good value for the money
Needed an inexpensive hotel for overnight visit to family in Keokuk. The super 8 was super clean, super friendly and super affordable! Next store was sports bar/family restaurant called V’s where we ate dinner which also gets thumbs up.
This hotel is pretty decent for the price. I came here thinking I would save money from another place, in the end I spent more due to the 3rd party booking not stating pets are $25 non refundable fee per day. The other places I stayed were $10 a night and one no charge at all. Here, they also ‘hold’ a $150 damage deposit so why so much for pets in addition?! Plus, it...
One of our rooms was so bad. The air-conditioner didn't work. Moreover, it smelled so bad in the room. They gave us another room, but one of us needed to sleep on the sofa.
The room was clean and the staff were polite. The only problem we had was the toulet did not flush properly. We stayed 6 nights and from the first night the toilet always needed 2 flushes but the last night of our stay it wouldn't go down at all. Otherwise the hotel met our needs.
When we first entered our room, we were shocked at how clean the room was! I never have encountered that amount of cleanliness in a 2 -3 star motel. The bed was truly comfortable and soft. The shower was soooo relaxing, loved how it felt. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking lot was decent. It would be nice if they added more lightning to the rear parking lot. Other t...

We were passing through and happy to find online a great price for this clean motel, easily accessible from the highway and also not far from some restaurants, shops, coffee places, etc. Comfortable bed in a typical small, clean Motel 6 room. Decent sized bathroom.
Had to take a taxi to Wal-Mart to catch a bus unless you travelled eary morning or early evening
Very good low price option.
It was very handy to where I was going, as I came to Dubuque for a funeral. And it was available and affordable on short notice.
The desk staff Michelle was friendly, helpful, and a joy to talk with. She will tell you where the good food is! Overall: The price fits, and the location is fine — it’s not a big city. Quality that fits a budget.
A little pricey for the room, and (granted this happens), I got little sleep because the person above me was walking around. Perhaps they should have thicker barriers
We called to verify the pool was going to be open before we booked. We were assured everything was good for the night. We booked for the evening and arrived not even 2 hours later. We were told the pool “just closed” due to chlorine issues. Our little girls were let down. On top of that the power was out half the night, which I understand was not their fault. The woma...
Room was nice, stairs in hall were rather dirty.
I am not happy with this place as they need an exterminator. I have bugs bites all over my body. I can produce pictures if needed. I will not stay there again. Thanks for your time.
I miss the pool
Economically price for a quick overnight before flying out of Omaha early the next morning. Can't get closer to the airport. Not the fanciest place but adequate for a quick overnight. You get what you pay for.

Love the location and the cleanliness of the hotel in general. I also loved the mirrors in the room! It was also nice to have that complimentary 24hr shuttle service since the zoo parking was full. I would definitely book another room here again!
This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've stayed here, and I'm never disappointed. The staff is always on point, and you just can't beat the value/quality of the room for the money! The Continental Breakfast is the perfect start to another leg of your journey on the road :)
The room was nice, just your average hotel room. It was very clean, but there were little things that could be fixed, like there was a loose outlet by the sink and the bottom of the tub was worn a bit. Overall a good stay.
Our room was ok. We had no hot water our entire stay. Talked to staff about it in person and was unresolved. Water park was beyond disgusting. There was mold growing in toilets and garbage cans in bathrooms. Wads of toilet paper everywhere. I almost threw up. Lifeguards were half asleep and inconsistent with rules if they enforced them at all. The stairs leading up t...
price was good. If you are just shopping on price, its a good deal. building does not have elevators. This should be clearly stated on here, which it is not. And it is clear the owners are cheap and wont spend any money on maintenance or upkeep. The swimming pool has been closed for a long time (and no signs of them intending to open it) If you are going to adver...
4-star hotels in Iowa State
The staff was very nice and helpful. They even helped us get an local driver. They were very knowledgeable about the area for places to go and eat.
was in Davenport for a wedding, close to the venue, nice environment, the room is great
We were greatly disappointed at the small room size and the parking fees relative to the cost of this room. As frequent travelers, we would've expected more for the money.
Great night sleep, bed was fantastic, nice shower, enjoyed my stay, close to University and the hospital ... would definitely stay here again.
