This hotel that opened for the Chicago World's fair in 1893 sits in the heart of Chicago's downtown (the Loop), with beautiful views of Lake Michigan, Grant and Millennium Parks, and the Buckingham fountain that is right across the street. Given the prime location, you would think it would long ago have been replaced by a post-modern resort that would cost several times as much. Instead this capacious hotel still sits in a much more appealing location than the more famous Palmer House, and seems to get by filling rooms with deals like the one I found on Agoda. Sure, our room didn't face the Lake, but we could still see it through the bay window that all rooms seem to have. The room itself was clean and well appointed. I would have preferred two queen beds to the two fulls that the room included, but the mattresses were comfortable and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious for a room in a large metro downtown. The staff was uniformly cheerful, pleasant, helpful and patient. The TV allowed us to stream a movie from a laptop through an HDMI cable that I always carry for that purpose. (This is not a given.) The hotel is huge but didn't feel close to full. For example, elevators always arrived promptly, the lobby always seemed to have room when we needed it. One thing we enjoyed (though others might not): The clientele of the hotel felt rich and varied; this is not a tony preserve of the elite. Negatives: The room smelled a little musty till housekeeping (quickly and politely) replaced the filter in the air conditioner. One day the chambermaid took our towels and didn't replace them. I had to call housekeeping twice before replacements were quickly and apologetically brought to the room. The carpet in the room feels too cushy; I had to lift my feet a bit further off the ground than I am used to in order to avoid catching my sole on the carpet. None of these really bothered us. (OK, the second phone call to housekeeping did annoy me.) For rooms this nice in a location th

The location is very convenient, most of the places can easily be reached by foot. Housekeeping staff was excellent and made sure the room was in immaculate condition. I initially booked a higher floor room caus I read that the siren sounds can be disturbing. During check in time they provided us with connecting rooms but did not honor the higher floor rooms booking due to unavailability of connecting rooms, although there was a price difference. Nevertheless after a couple of days we did grew used to the sirens and it did not disturbed our sleep. Pool area is a joke and an after thought, there are no showers and the pool is tiny. The hotel only has one restaurant which becomes boring after some time. All in all a good option since it’s good value for money and the cleanliness lived up to our standards.

I am not sure what I should expect for 4-star hotel. Compared to my previous hotel without stars, this hotel has no bath tub, nor coffee machine. Room space is smaller but has every necessary things. Air condition can be set in a few range of temperature, but this is understandable because Chicago is normally cold. There was water drop in shower room, so I heard the sound of dropping almost all the time. Other than these, such as staff and location is really nice. In summary, I think for this price (about £60) this hotel is worthy. However, it should be considered that is it worth for 4 stars.

The hotel is located right next to the Chicago O'Hare International Airport. It is convenient for travellers who are stopping over in Chicago for a day or two. For me, I had just come off a long-haul international flight. It was easy for me to get to the hotel and take a rest after the long travel. The reception was very friendly. The staff greeted me personally and gave me a quick outline of the hotel's amenities. The concierge was also helpful in assisting me in navigating my way to the city centre of Chicago, especially since it was my first time in the United States.

The hotel was beautiful and clean, the access in and out was super easy and the staff was amazingly kind and helpful. If any of them was having a bad day, you’d never know. The maintenance guy that came up and swapped out our mini fridge was efficient and kind as well. Beautiful view of the city and water as well!! It was nice not being blocked by any other buildings (we were on the 21st floor however). The restaurant,Third Place, inside the hotel was beautiful and delicious as well. The housekeeping forgot to replenish the coffee/cup items but that wasn’t a big deal for us, things happen and are missed sometimes. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend this stay to everyone traveling to Chicago.

I booked two rooms in advance for my daughters 15th birthday. Check in is at 3pm and my 2nd room wasnt cleaned and ready until 5pm. Rooms were spacious and clean. No one has floor to ceiling windows anymore but indian lakes does. Beds and pillows were exceptionally nice. Pool was awesome except it was so crowded from people just coming in off the street not staying at the hotel. And the hot tub was constantly filled with toddlers in float jackets saying help me help me they were so tiny they couldn't climb out and the parents weren't watching. Ice machine on our floor was broke. I read reviews that the continental breakfast was horrible. It was just fine. 3 cereals, yogurt, fruit, various breads, bagels, donuts, pastries, milk, orange juice and coffee. Its free. I live local and have been here many times in past. I want to see it survive. Id like to see some new carpet in the lobby and atrium and some updates. Its dated.

Stayed for 5 days for the Cirobe Book Fair in the hotel. Very convenient as the fair was just downstair. Strategic location for sightseeing as well as the Grant Park, Millenium Park and Lake Michigan are just right in front of the hotel. The Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago are just right around the corner. Had a lovely time as I managed to see all these in a very short time.

For the price, it is a great place to stay on a budget. The facilities offered in the room and in the hotel in general are designed for the budget conscious traveler. It is near a metro line, but it is about a ten minute walk to it. I will also say it is easy to hear people walking in the hallway and outside traffic, but it did stay relatively quiet while we there during the week. I would book this hotel again since I enjoy the West Loop area!

We like shopping, and the hotel is located near the best stores in downtown Chicago. The hotel is also close to the Art Museum which is a wonderful atraction oif the city. You also have very good restaurants in the area or if they are far away the subway and bus are good options. Also, coming back and forth to the airport in the blue subwayne to Monroe station is a fast and cheap way to movHighly recommended.

It was beyond our exceptions! From the front desk, to the staff and amenities. The location is perfect too! We love going to Bandera's for dinner and it was about 5 blocks away. It's a short walk to the riverwalk and the best Art Museum in the World. My husband and I attended the Gaugin lecture there and enjoyed the special exhibit immensely. The Kenzie hotel had little niceties that when added up made it terrific. They had an umbrella in the room for rainy days, a mirror that has settings based on your day's activities-night, office, daylight.... Breakfast on each floor was nicely displayed ......and pretty good coffee too! Five stars all the way!

The location is perfect, near everything, the staff are incredible, front desk always manned, coffee downstairs is some of the best in Chicago, awesome events every night, washing, cooking and laundering facilities all great. Gym is great as well as the bar/restaurant downstairs would have to be some of the best food and drinks I’ve had in the states. And all this for $30 a night? Fortunately this wasn’t too good to be true...I’ll be back time and time again.

It was a pleasant stay in the Inn of Chicago but we were a bit disappointed as we booked a traditional King room end up they provided us with Queen room. Notice that the price and size of the traditional King and the Queen room are different but they did not say anything at that time and give me back a cheaper rate! I am not sure if that was a mistake, I am not lucky, or it is the magic of overcharging people by providing a downgraded room. Anyway, it happened. However, I have to point out that the billman who looks like an Asian (sorry I didn't ask for his name) is extraordinary! He is very helpful, friendly, and passionate about his work. Thumb up for him!

I booked this hotel because everywhere I normally stay was sold out and I found a good deal. I was really pleasantly surprised - the St Jane is a gem. Beautiful, large rooms that are tastefully decorated and very welcoming staff. A few minor issues - my room wasn’t ready for check in, housekeeping could have been a little more detail oriented with things like folding towels and hanging robes, the lighting in the room is a little tricky to figure out... but overall was really impressed and would stay here again. Super close to Millennium Park and the riverwalk.

I selected the Cambria because my son was having surgery at Lurie Children's Hospital and the hotel is right next door - literally a 2 minute walk. Great location! Very clean with a very cool vibe. Updated - although still undergoing renovations which was a little inconvenient but not bad (reason for 4 star rating on facilities). Best part - the staff! Exceptional! From the valet who helped unload our car to the staff at the front desk, all were kind, helpful and very proactive in serving our needs. I definitely will stay here again!

Considering I was not booked into the hotel when I had paid up front with Agoda, I was most impressed with the front desk in sorting problem quickly ( just as well they were not full.) However hotel was great, in an ideal location very short walk to magnificent mile, clean room and really pleased with the whole stay, the adjoining restaurant is very good and do a breakfast that is the best we found across 4 states we visited.

Stayed in the city one night for fun. The I/O lounge offered a great view of the skyline even when it was cold outside - very comfortable in the enclosed part. I can see how this would be a great attraction in warmer weather, but we enjoyed it even in cold weather. We went there for pre-dinner cocktails. Our server, Alexis, was really great. Friendly, engaging, and made our visit there even better. Our Old Fashioneds were really well prepared, and Alexis told us the bartender makes this cherry-vanilla syrup used in the drink, and was really tasty. She really enjoyed telling us about the drinks, and we had a nice conversation around it. Very hospitable. After returning from dinner outside the hotel we had a knock on our door. A staffer came to our room because we left an item at I/O, and they brought it to our room to return it. Awesome service. Highly recommend the Godfrey. Alexis is a ***** asset for the Godfrey.

Easy to find, adequate, clean, facility. Everything worked. Hot water. Helpful staff. I'm not picky and I sleep well just about anywhere, I just needed a bed for the night as I had an early flight at O'Hare and it was just what I needed. Close to the airport, easy access to restaurants, etc. Great price thanks to Agoda.com Great customer service too as I had to make amends when I accidentally booked the wrong date. Thanks Agoda and O'Hare Inn and Suites!
