Hawaii hotels & places to stay

The hotel is right across the road from the beach with beach towels available in room. Bus stops are located directly across the road, very helpful for getting around on a budget. The staff were so helpful and friendly. If you have an early flight request an early check in they are more than happy to accomodate. Tours can be booked through the expedia concierge in the lobby, however you should do some research into what you actually want to see and how much you're willing to spend, some discounts can be found online. Located close to shops and restaurants, most things are within walking distance. The hotel was under construction during our visit, there was minimal disruption however the elevators tended to take a while during peak times. Overall we had an amazing stay and the view from our room was phenomenal, we will go back if we visit Hawaii again.

We were on our honeymoon and stayed three nights at Queen Kapiolani. It's located at the end of the Waikiki stretch so a little away from the hustle and bustle but still easy enough to access. Great view of diamond head from the hotel pool. I wish we had spent a little more and gone for an ocean view room or a diamond head view, as the view from our room was of the hostel next door and not really that great. The staff made all the difference for the hotel, in particular Jocelyn at the front desk who kindly extended our half day stay from 3pm to 6pm. We had a late flight that night (departing HNL at 9pm) and we paid an extra usd119 to extend our stay to 3pm. Jocelyn then told us that she'd be happy for us to stay till 6pm, which I thought was very generous and testament to the levels of Hawaiian hospitality we had experienced throughout our stay in Hawaii.

I picked here for our honeymoon hotel in hawaii. the hotel is located right in front of Waikiki and very close to the major shopping area. hotel is very modern and secure. room is of white decor and very comfy. on the first floor, there is the bookroom/ bar and it's quite nice at night. there is a club adjacent to the hotel I recommend this hotel for the couple who enjoy both city and the beach :)

We're from Australia, and we just had our honeymoon in Hawaii and spent the last 5 nights at Turtle Bay Resort. We loved it! Reception staff were lovely, the staff at breakfast were all friendly and really kind and efficient at Kula Grille. We had breakfast included in our booking, which was continental buffet - lots to choose from. And you could upgrade to the full buffet for a very reasonable price if you wanted to. The staff at Roy's were great. We enjoyed many cocktails (try the Hawaiian Martini) at the bar at Roy's, and had a really great dinner there too. Also had a great dinner at Lei Lei's, and the staff there also great. Lots of really great meals. A gym that overlooks the ocean, and a great pool. I didn't swim in the pool as there is the beach right there also. There's a great shop there to buy a sandwich or drinks (including a bottle of wine, and beer/ciders for very reasonable prices) if you were just wanting a causal snack or night in. Room service also available. We stayed in a junior king suite in the 6th floor and we had beautiful views. And we loved our suite. The housekeeping staff were lovely too. Looking forward to returning for our first year wedding anniversary. Can't wait in fact .... thank you Turtle Bay Resort! Looking forward to seeing you again!! Richard and Marsha Wyles.

As the cost of this hotel was a fraction of other hotels in the vicinity, we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the studio room. Had two double beds, a large dresser, table and chairs, and a good size closet in the bathroom, including a safe. A bonus was a little kitchen area which had a sink and dorm size refrigerator. Sadly no microwave could be found in the hotel anywhere. Had a nice view of other hotels and a park in Waikiki from our little deck outside of the sliding glass door. The air conditioner did a good job, and the housekeeping staff had the room in spotless condition. The rooms did not have Wifi, which was only available in the lobby, but corded internet was provided in each room. The showers were a bit small, but the water was hot and the shower head worked perfect, including the water massage. I have no complaints about this very nice hotel, and its' friendly staff. We will definitely stay there again if ever we return to Waikiki. In truth, the hotel was the only reasonably priced item we found in Hawaii!!

I chose the Maui Seaside because I wanted a central location and didn´t need a beach in front of my room. I stayed in other Seaside Hotels in Hawaii and this was not the best. The staff was friendly, check-in and check-out were quick, parking was good and it was a good base for exploring different parts of the island. The hotel room was large, and reasonably quiet given that there is a major road right outside the doorsteps but the room was rather dark (it was on the ground floor) and looked out the back onto a hedge about a meter away.

I've stayed here a few times now when I have connections through Hawaii and am always impressed with how nice it is for an "airport hotel." The shuttle service is dependable and frequent, the staff are always really friendly and the hotel rooms are nice. Good bed, great shower, fridge and microwave, even a little dining table to eat at. The restaurant downstairs is good, and they have a nice pool.

There are a lot of big groups that stay at this hotel, so the checking in process is difficult. We were placed in a room that is undergoing "minor and non-disruptive" renovation, according to the front desk. However, we realized very quickly that there was MAJOR construction going on and the staff who checked us in should not have understated that. We did not come to Waikiki to hear severe drilling all day and night! The bigger nightmare was our attempt to change rooms. It should've been taken care of quickly. However, the front desk took 3 days and repeatedly made mistakes during the process. They asked us to wait until midday - when we would be heading out to enjoy beautiful Hawaii. We did not come to Hawaii to wait in the room for a room switch! When we finally got a room change after 2 days of spending hours sorting out hotel room change logistics, they said they would move our suitcases. When we came back at 1:30am from a night out, our suitcases were missing. It is these repeated mistakes that unfortunately would lead us to not stay here again. Despite the fact that the staff was nice, it was not nice to take our entire 3 days stay to sort out our room situation with repeated error. The hotel should not place people in rooms that are completely not livable - Hawaii became stressful due to this!

One thing you should note is that Wailea is the Beverly Hills of Maui, so the hotels, restaurants and facilities are generally more expensive than elsewhere in Maui. That said, Andaz was a real pleasure to stay in - comfortable room (I stayed in the 2 Queen Beds Makua room), beautiful resort surroundings, and very helpful staff. The staff were always ready to assist, and greeting you very cheerily no matter the time! They also provide many complimentary activities which are part of the resort fee, so do take advantage of them! Also, they have a complimentary car to nearby venues (e.g. The Shops at Wailea) on a first-come-first served basis, and they were great to use as it saved me on Uber costs. They have a private beach strip which gives wonderful views of the sunsets, and they provide towels and chairs. For those who don't prefer the sand, they have chairs on the lawn facing the sea as well. Choose Andaz for a beautiful and comfortable stay!

Iwe went to hawaii for 3 nites. We spent 2 at sherton ad one at trump. we concluded that we should have just stayed at trump the whole trip. When we pulled up the staff greeted us with shell necklace, similar to lays(?) and waterelon infused water. From then on the staff front desk staff knew us by name and left a nice messege on our anwering machince coupled with a nice turn-down service. The locatiprivate beach area and had complimentry beach bags with towels, fruit and water.on was great and although it was not on the beach the hotel had complimentry beach bgs filled with towels, fruit and water. The pool was a little small but its was still nice. The staff set up towels and magazines and served refreshments and flowers. The room was nice, clean and modern. It had warm robs and a big tv. The bed was very comfortable and hada cozy duvet. I will definately stay there again when i visit Hawaii.

We loved our stay at this hotel. We booked a club room for the four of us - mum, dad, older son and teenage daughter. The club lounge package was good, at times it was very busy and it occasionally had to wait five to ten minutes for a table but could help ourselves to food and drink whilst waiting. As our daughter was over 16 we could use the adult infinity pool - again it was very busy but staff handled it very well and kept an eye on beds that were not being used ( would be a good suggestion to tell users to remove their towels when leaving, not everyone has the manners and common sense to do this but it would have made more sun beds accessible a lot quicker!) Staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms and views were amazing and a great location to get out and about. Would most definitely go back!

Hotel experience was great from check in to check out. We checked in around 8am after landing at 6:30am and stored our bags for us. When we returned at 11am the room was ready although check in was not until 2pm. Great hotel just to walk around, lots of things to see and do. Provided us beach towels. Step out of the hotel onto Waikiki beach and close to the wharf too. Room was clean and had a great view (Rainbow Tower, Ocean/Mountain view). Enjoyed the pool side performances and fireworks beside the hotel afterwards. Hotel had fast wifi connectivity. Staff were very helpful and gave us tips on what to do and see and convenient transport options. Tried Tropics Bar & Grill, Rainbow Lanai (buffet breakfast), Pronto Pickle and Bali Steak & Seafood all had great service with the exception of the Bali Steak & Seafood receptionist who made us wait 40min then to be told that there were no seats and to come back in an hour.. and then when we came back did not acknowledge us and continued to give tables to people who had just arrived. But the food and service inside was good. Checkout was very easy as we had prepaid. Just return the beach towel cards and got to keep the Hawaii Five-O key cards.

I booked a night here because I was in awe of the photos online of the hidden cave pool bar and the water slides I live on Oahu I wanted the pool experience mainly and to have a nice comfy room. The hotel staff was amazing I will say I really liked every single staff member I encountered everyone really showed Aloha from the Valet guys to the check in counter lady to the bell man to the bartenders everyone was great. The pool was awesome but it closes at 5pm and so does the bar, check in is at 4pm we were fortunate and got to check in a little early but we still had a limited amount of time to really enjoy the pool bar and slides the pool alone is open 24 hours but that doesn’t include the slides and the hot tub also closes at 10pm Drinks at the pool beer is $8 anything with hard liquor is $16 Parking: self park $22 valet $32 Room was the only disappointment doesn’t look like photos small shower nothing fancy about it. *DO Call property and ask about room detail before booking.

I am from Kauai and know almost every hotel on the island. Since opening in the early 1990's The Hyatt Poipu Beach has set the standard which all other hotels on the island strive to attain. From the moment you walk in the grand lobby you'll know what you're in for. The rooms are very comfortable and well-appointed and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The reason I stay at the Hyatt is to use their awesome pools. There is a saltwater lagoon-like pool with sand around it to create a safe mini-beach area. Kids love it because they can paddle around in kayaks and tubes and they are safe. Afterwards you can swim through a maze of pools, waterfalls, waterslides, and jacuzzis. For adults, there is a twice weekly (Tuesday and Saturday) hula and Hawaiian singing show put on by the islands most renowned Hula teacher Leilani Rivera Bond. The show is small and initimate, unlike the mass productions on most islands. Lastly, there is the Anara Spa which my French spa-loving wife has proclaimed her favorite spa in the world. For the guys there is world-class golf next door. In summary, this is the best hotel on the island for location (sun and beach) and ammenities (pool, spa, dining).

I had booked in advance back in the end of March. Due to my flight last minute changes (not on my part.Thank you United for the headache) my family and I arrived a day late. I made sure to call ahead to notify the hotel that we would be coming late. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the lady's name whom I spoke to that day. But she assured me that our rooms will still be ready for us upon arrival but we would still have to pay for the first night since it was a last minute change. We agreed to it. Finally arrived to the resort only to find out our rooms were cancelled but the gentlemen and manager on duty at the time was very sympathetic and tried to fix the problem right away. They made us feel at ease after the huge ordeal we had to go through with United. They upgraded us to a better room and explained everything in detail because of their service I felt at ease and was more excited about being in Hawaii. The rooms were big and clean; love waking up seeing those beautiful misty mountain

My husband and I stayed at the same hotel two years ago. We booked the same hotel because we loved the experience here. However, compared to the previous visit, it was not that good. First of all, we booked the room with the city view, yet we could only see the construction site. Most of all, we really hated the elevators. There were three, but it seemed that only one was working. It was always crowded. It is still a decent hotel with a great location. However, if I visit Hawaii again, I will try a different hotel.

Stayed only for 1night (stopped over) to fly domestic... After coming from International 10hrs flight on Honeymoon - staff Katrina went the extra mile. She upgraded us to Partial Ocean View King, originally booked Standard King and sent us a bottle of champagne. Since it was our first time in Hawaii, she recommended where to go - shopping, dining & entertainment. Very good customer service, staff are well trained in understanding guests needs. Good location, next to Macy’s, entertainment, dining & other shopping centre. 3mins walk to the beach. Room is newly renovated, clean and the bed & pillow are very comfy - wife & i slept like a baby. Would stay there again and recommend the hotel to other friends visiting Hawaii

Our stay at the Hilo Seaside Hotel was pleasant. The room is big and overlooking the sea. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. The only dislike we have was the hotel has no elevators. Moreover, the room does not have any wifi to access internet. We have to do it at the reception area. Overall, we will still recommend travellers to consider this hotel on their travel to Hilo, Hawaii Big Island.

It was my first time in Hawaii and the staff were so helpful friendly and they make my holiday so comfortable. The location is perfect , I was in Room 608 it's central and close to everything. Facilities were clean as well. I will definitely stay there again for any further holidays to Hawaii. I will highly recommended it to ranimiez and friends as well. The venue, location is perfect and its close to shops and only a short drive to restaurants and beaches. Located in (my opinion) the best part of the island as its close to a lot of the attractions to the island. The AC was a downer though because you rely on fans on all the time which I don't like while I sleep. You have to open the vents to let air in and then you are woken up every morning by the sprinklers which are set at 4am right next to your vents. The rest of the place is nice and well kept. Kitchen had everything you need and we never had an issue.

My husband and I were very pleased with our nine night stay and would definitely stay again in the future especially if we were able to secure a package deal. The Hotel is in a perfect location and central to everything we needed during our stay. The Bus stop was less than a block away which is a great and cheap service to get around and even the whole Island. It is only a short walk to the beach from the Hotel and fold up beach chairs and towels are available to take to the beach. The service and all the staff were most accommodating and friendly. Our room on the 10th floor was fairly quiet and it was nice to sit on our balcony at night and was the passing parade below. We really didn’t want to leave.

I read lots of conflicting reviews before booking this hotel, there are people who expect it to be like a large chain hotel. It is not. It is a charming boutique hotel. We really appreciated the contrast between this hotel and the large resorts we have been to on this holiday. It gave us the chance to cook a couple of meals ourselves in a spacious 2 bedroom apartment. The breakfasts were great, the sandbar boat trip was fabulous (swimming with turtles is something we’ll never forget) and we enjoyed a quiet paddle in a kayak. I can’t comment on the yoga or dinners because these weren’t held while we stayed. This hotel is quiet and unassuming. We really enjoyed our stay.
