Carinthia hotels & places to stay

We stayed three nights in the hotel. The hotel was located in a nice place; quiet and close to the lake. There was a good restaurant nearby. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment (65 m2) with lake view. However, when we checked in, the man at the reception desk gave us a much smaller one bed room (ca. 30 m2) instead, which I still cannot understand. I showed him the room descriptions printed out from the agoda.com and he changed our room to a two-bedroom apartment on the first floor. However, unlike our booking, we could not see any part of the lake on the first floor. The other woman at the reception desk was very kind and tried to be kind to us. The hotel's 2 bedroom apartments were spacious, with kitchenettes and huge balconies. The sad thing about the hotel was that the room was cold at night but we could not control the temperature. Moreover, we had to take a shower with cold water one day, since the hotel failed to supply hot water. Besides, there was no phone in the room and we report

This is a nice hotel and the room was clean and comfortable. The receptionist who looked after us on arrival and departure was pleasant and friendly. It was not the best 4* property in which we stayed during our recent trip to central europe as the room was a little on the small side and there were not the same facilities. However breakfast for 2 was included in the room rate which made it very good value for money, and the quality and variety of the breakfast offerings is very good. No hesitation in recommending, particularly if travelling by train

We stayed in room 108, which faces the lake side. From 7:20am until after 10pm, there is loud music being played at the bar on the terrace. We wanted to keep the window slightly open at night as otherwise it was stuffy in the room. But that is impossible unless you want to wake up at 7:20am every day on your holiday. Unfortunately, even with the window closed, this annoying music was still audible in the room even when wearing earplugs. The terrace with the nice deck chairs and hammocks would otherwise be nice, but we noticed that there were hardly ever any people there. We quickly realized why...the non-stop music is audible everywhere on this terrace and clearly nobody wants to be exposed to this music all day long. They really should turn this music off or just make it to a volume so that only people who actually sit on the bar can hear it. There were hardly any people at the bar, I have no idea why this music was playing constantly. Staff not very friendly, breakfast was good.

I arrived at 10pm thinking my reservation was good, but the self check in system is obviously flawed and doesn't have my reservation. Waited 30min outside before a kind gentleman who happened to know the bartender next to the hotel come help me. She didn't know either and had to call the owner. We have to then rebook the room after an hour of figuring out why my reservation isn't in the system. Finally got into the room and realizes that the tv and internet doesn't work if it wasn't crawling at a dial up modem speed already. I feel horrible for the next people. This was my worst experience at a hotel/ motel.

We had a quite spacious room with a balcony. However, because of large trees we were not able to see the lake. But it's a very short walking distance to the lake and the fun park. We enjoyed the stay there and consider coming back next year. The lake and especially the fun park (swimming in the lake and some other activities) is quite attractive to children and prices are reasonable.

Position: not in the center but near West station and some bus stops. So it’s still convenient to go to the center and then come back late at night. The receiptionist is very nice and helpful. She has a warm greeting for us and she can speak English really well. Customer service is fast, I sent an email for some personal request for changes directly to the property and got the reply very soon. The room and bathroom are clean, well-rquipped. Have good view and the space inside the room is comfortable. Have the common space with sofa and chairs so groups can gather foe some small party. Breakfast with a wide range of food and drinks.

Nice family run hotel with perhaps no more than 6 to 7 rooms. With a family of four and tons of baggage, we were reserved a sizable room on G/F which was a God sent saving us the ordeal of lugging all the bags upstairs. Helped also by fact that carpark is right outside the door. Room is well equipped with kitchen and we ended up cooking our own dinner. Am only hoping grocery in super market nearby can be cheaper.

Romantik Hotel Post is beautiful hotel in the heart of Villach; the hotel building itself is a very well conserved old palace, facing the main road. We were given a suite room, which is extremely spacey. The room was clean and well kept, the bathroom was quite big as well with the only downside of not having a window. Breakfast has a limited offer of mainly local food, but the available quantity of food is fairly good. The hotel has a free wi-fi connection. Overall, definitely a great place to stay!

Needed to get a taxi from and to the railway station - the hotel is a couple of kilometres away. An easy 15 to 20 minutes walk to the city centre though. A very nicely appointed large room and bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety. Not so many cafes around but the hotel's own cafe and restaurant were really good with reasonably priced meals. A plus for non smokers - the restaurant was a no smoking zone.

It is impossible to find anything to criticize in this hotel, the presentation, the location, the beautiful views and the countryside in which it is located, the quality of the water, the comfort of the rooms, the pristine presentation of the breakfast, and the desire to please each guest in a very personal way made our stay here memorable and very enjoyable. I would totally recommend it.

Friendly staff, a good modern look to the hotel as a whole. far away from the centers of interest Internet gateway resets itself every 8 minutes which can make it very hard to do internet activity that requires a streaming, constant connection. No elevator Water pressure goes on and off constantly I had high hopes for this hotel, and when I got to the hotel, I was a bit surprised at its distance from the main road. In fact, my suggestion would be that their signage is more visible somehow (higher and bigger). When I got there, I liked the modern look of the place, and the staff was friendly enough, spoke English well enough.

This is one of the best times I had at a bed and breakfast. We encountered the most friendly hosts ever. We were there over Christmas and the atmosphere was amazing. We caught a cold on arrival, and they were looking after us like were family. The rooms are very nice and spacious, the breakfast was delicious every morning and the cleanliness was exceptional. Although quite close to the railway, the noise you cannot really hear with close windows, so do not worry about it. We also got gift vouchers to the local swimming pool and sauna, which was also very nice. I can only recommend it ++++

We just had an overnight stay in Villach but the comfort afforded by Warmbad Apartments makes us wish we had planned for a longer visit. Due to delays on the autobahn, we arrived two hours later than intended but we were warmly welcomed nevertheless. We found everything we needed in the spacious apartment and we particularly liked the little "extras" - the toiletries, the candles, etc. Next time we come to this part of Austria, we will definitely book a longer stay at Warmbad Apartments.
