This was a very nice hotel! We didn't pay much, so our expectations weren't that high, even considering that this hotel does have some state of the art technology. It is a very short walk from Atami Station and there's a convenience store a minute away, so you can get little things you want or need before you get to the hotel or if you're relaxing after a long day. Each room is equipped with a device that connects to Alexa and had features to turn on the TV and change to popular media applications. The bathroom was clean and had a big shower head. The beds were comfortable and has an aircon that is designed much like central air conditioning. The room also has a little table for snacking or if you want to use a laptop if you brought one. They have a combination washer/dryer machine all in one, not a top and bottom set, so you can do both and forget about it until it is completed. You can even check the status on the TV set in your room, so you don't have to leave until you know for sure it is ready. I also liked that they had an ice machine. You have to collect the ice with paper cups, but it's better than nothing. A few negatives. For one, I was surprised when I entered the room and saw that the ceiling in the bedroom was concrete. Not sure if that was intentionally done for infrastructure/ maintenance reasons or if they just went over budget and decided they couldn't be bothered, but it was a little odd to look up at the ceiling at night and have to see it. Second was the breakfast. Having looked at previous reviews of the breakfast, I wasn't expecting much. They did have a message in the elevator that said that as of mid-April of this year that the breakfast offering would change. I booked before this change and didn't see anything about this possible change in any reviews or on their website. My problem isn't really the change in breakfast. My problem isn't even that it is quite small like the other reviews had correctly stated. The concern I have is that I had booked with a plan that said breakfast was included. Ours was included, but there doesn't seem to be any system in place that confirms you got breakfast or that you're part of a plan that says you get breakfast. So it seems anyone can show up with a room key and get breakfast from their Cafe. Not sure if anyone could attempt to do this twice in one morning as I didn't, but if there is any kind of staff change during this breakfast period, I could see someone attempt to do it unchecked. That may be a concern if only a set number of breakfasts are prepared and someone arrives close to the period almost ending and being told that they're out, even if they paid for it. I would suggest at least having the guest write their name or room number on a piece of paper to keep track of who has had breakfast. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel. Would stay again.

We stayed 4 nights and absolutely loved this high-tec hotel. Self check in and out, room has sensor light, great security survelliance, helpful & attentive staff and easy parking. The room is spacious for a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed the stay so much that we didn't feel like changing hotel(but no choice as we had to travel to another city). It is an easy 10 min walk to the beach, a convenient store is a few steps away, the train station is 3 min walk away, rental car companies within short walking distance. Breakfast is simple but good enough for us to begin our day. Our room was cleaned daily and the housekeeping team did a fabulous job to keep the room at tip top condition every day when we returned to the room. Highly recommended !
Check in was easy and there was a very helpful person helping with the automated process. Walking into the room was a great surprise in a good way, it was a good size and spotlessly clean. It was shiny and new with very comfortable beds, plush pillows , separate shower and toilet. CNN on the TV as an English channel. Laundry on the 2nd floor. This place is a real gem.

we were very happy and satisfied with our stay at prince smart inn! 1. great location it is just a 3 min walk from atami station (it’s also super easy to navigate from the station to the hotel). there is also a nearby family mart (1-2 min walk away) and a bus stop (kasagucho) right outside the hotel! so it’s convenient to take the buses around atami :) 2. friendly & helpful staff the staff were mostly very friendly and knew simple english so it was easy to communicate with them. the check-in and check-out procedure was also super efficient. 3. amenities - baggage storage lockers were very helpful. although they only allow you to store your baggage on the day of check-in and not the day of your check-out so do take note! (but not a problem since you can use the baggage storage lockers at atami station! that’s what we did) - laundry machine (500 yen for 2h wash + dry) this was very easy to use and also works well! - kettle (FREE rental from the reception) 4. cleanliness daily housekeeping is always done very well and overall, the room is really clean :)
