SEPARATE DORMERS FROM TRAVELLERS AND GUEST. BETTER YET, REMOVE GUEST 7-8 OFF THE PROPERTY. I have had an unpleasant stay at Just Live Hostel because of a hobo middle-aged lady , guest 7-8, who feels like she owns the room since she’s at the upper bunk bed. First time experiencing being bullied and harassed at a hostel ever. I’ve stayed at a hostel in my home country and abroad but that lady is at a whole level. I guess insecurity made her project things like she’s assuming I’m trashing her area when in fact I’m getting my things from my suitcase. Her space at the upper bunk bed has a lot of clothes hanging which looks more unclean than my space at the lower bunk bed. As you can see, the room is kinda cramped and has small walkway, anyway I wasn’t nor my things were blocking her. When I called her off from the moment I checked-in, she seems to keep “an eye” on me every time I’m in the room. She’s also checking on me while I get things from my luggage or my cabinet, auntie I am not dumb to know that you are looking at my cabinet lock code. Ain’t gonna steal your things, I’ll even buy you new things if you want. Things get pretty heated on my second night after I was again arranging my things, I noticed she would cross and walk around when I am around the room like she could have had her toothbrush early on since I arrived around pass 8:30pm. She’s accusing me of blocking her when she can walk to her cabinet and she can say excuse me. She cursed and shouted at Just Live Hostel staff who was trying to pacify things and to me. She even threw her toothbrush to me like what is that unruly attitude. I’ll try to be understanding but she’s been annoying and harassing me since I’ve arrived. After that, I asked the hostel staff to be transferred to another room which they found a way but I still didn’t feel safe knowing that nasty old lady is still within the premises. Like what if she do something to me while I’m in the Female’s Restroom. IS SHE BEING RACIST BECAUSE A FILIPINA IS TRAVELLING OR ENJOYING HER LIFE? OR IS SHE BEING RACIST/BULLY BECAUSE OF HER INSECURITIES? I HOPE BUDDHA WILL DO SOME ENLIGHTENING/DIVINE INTERVENTION TO HER. LOCATION - Exit at Z4 then walk pass Mcdo on the right you’ll see a small sign for Just Live Hostel. Pretty convenient coz it’s near Taipei Main Station ROOMS - Bed is comfy and has bed lights and socket. The arrangement and numbering of the beds and also of the cabinets is kinda weird. There is no elevator so you’ll have to carry the suitcase to basement 1 COMMUNAL AREA - Pretty small but not too busy except after work around 6PM - 9PM RESTROOMS - Clean, separate h&c shower and toilet. Vanity area is located near the communal/living area but is separated with a bookcase division so there’s not much privacy. PANTRY - Offers water, gas refrigerator and utensils you can use. SERVICE - I commend the Just Live Hostel who helped me last November 19, I didn’t get her name but she was very accommodating. She even apologized on behalf of the rude old lady. I do hope she becomes successful in life.
I stayed at Just Live Hostel for two nights and had a really great experience. The location is super convenient, making it easy to get around the city. The facilities and amenities are well thought out, and everything is very clean – probably one of the cleanest hostels I’ve stayed in! The overall vibe is cozy and welcoming, which made my short stay really comfortable. Honestly, I couldn’t think of anything to improve because it was perfect for my trip. I’d definitely recommend Just Live Hostel to anyone visiting Taipei, whether for a short stay or longer.
This hostel is pretty to put it in simple terms. It is mostly clean aside from that one time the toilet bin was full to the brim and the cleaning staff has yet to empty it. You can easily get from the hostel to anywhere because it is right by the Taipei main station. The hostel facilities are above the top - vanity mirrors, toiletries, free towel and clean linens - they also have bigger beds than usual for a dorm. Now for the not-so-fun part, I am not sure if it was just the room I am in but the door is very heavy. It feels like a weight session at the gym every time I open it. It doesn't help that it's made of metal. The hostel vibe is kinda missing if you are looking for a social hostel tho. But if you are looking for a quiet and chill hostel, this is a place to be.
This was my first out of the country solo travel and i was hesitant to book a shared room in a hostel at first but i’m glad i booked this hostel. The room and facilities are very clean. I was really impressed with the shared vanity area and the free stuff there. The staff are friendly and they’d go out of their way to help you! It’s also really quiet at night so the guests respected everyone’s sleeping time. I would definitely stay here again if i go back to Taipei.

“Best of the best. ”
Solo travellers, this one’s for you! Safe, super clean, and very accommodating staff. This is my first time staying in a hostel and I will definitely come back to this one if I come to Taipei again. Honestly better than many hotels I’ve stayed in. The staff made it feel just like home. The female dorm has a blind that mens cannot cross. The location was perfect, just make sure you come out of exit Z4/Z2/M5 (if I'm not mistaken) and the hostel is just a few mins away next to the Mcdonalds, same row as uniqlo, 2nd street and watsons. What a great combo? Highly recommend!
