"The hotel location, as mentioned by most reviewers here, are superb, just right in front of the pier, where you board the ferry to Miyajima. Ferry is 1-way is Yen 180 and it takes only 10 mins. It's also a 3-5 minute walk from both train lines. Do take note that this hotel is located at Miyajimaguchi, which is on the mainland and not the island itself. After 7pm, this place is like a ghost town but there is a 7-11 though. The first ferry to Miyajima island is 7:15am and last ferry back is 8:15pm. Hotel is simple and there is a new and old block. I stayed in the old block, so it's quite old but its very clean, true Japanese standards! However breakfast is really nothing to shout about, that's the only setback for this hotel. I bought my own breakfast from 7-11 instead for my second day. Overall still highly recommended unless you might want to stay on Miyajima (the island itself) instead of Miyajimaguchi (mainland)."

"The location is superb, less than 5mins walk from the Miyajima ferry terminal, and i was happy to leave my luggage at the front desk while exploring the island for the whole day. I returned to the hotel for dinner and was delighted to find that the staff had assisted to transfer my luggage to the room. The hotel provided free use of a set of comfortable yukata per person which u could wear within the hotel premise. I booked a triple sharing room that was large & spacious. The hotel has a free hot spa which i did not utilise during this trip. Will definitely stay here again if I come back to Miyajima"

"I had my reservation on 5th floor of Sakuraya. Staff is very kind as I went there faster than check-in time. Therefore, they allowed me to put my luggage at the hotel first. They clearly explaned me about resturant and sight-seeing place on Miyajima. There is a grill oyster shop in front of hotel which is very convienient. Less than 10 minutes walk to JR station and Itsukushima Shrine. After I came back, I noticed that they had already put my luggage in my check-in room which impressed me very much. Room is tatami style room which is even big for 4-5 people to stay. Also, you can enjoy the view of Seto Sea from your window. On rainning day, they rent me a umbrella for free. The only disadvantage of this hotel is that the elevator go to only 4th floor and you have to take a walk to 5th floor. There is so hard to find an impressive hotel at this price. Don't hesitate to reserve Sakuraya."

"The hotel is not located directly on Miyajima Island, but rather nearby. There is a shuttle that runs to the nearest metro station during a set period of time each day. In general the staff is pretty helpful. However, walking from the nearest metro stop to the hotel may take around 10-18 minutes. Also, there is no wifi in the individual rooms but only in the lobby. The hotel has several onsens and organizes boating trips around the floating torii shrine. If you need a SIM card, the nearest location is probably BIC Camera back at Hiroshima station. The hotel has a restaurant where you can eat for dinner, but make sure to book a reservation ahead of time. "
