"I like the hotel service and location. This is the first hotel that we stayed for our trip. After a very long hour travelling from singapore and transit at KL, then took the bullet train from osaka to hiroshima and transfer to local train to majiyama station, it was very tired. Fortunately, the hotel is located near to the majiyama station. We arrived there about 12pm, just did the registration and they will helped us to transfer the luggage to the room. Location is also near to the ferry terminal, just few step in front of hotel, best recommandation for those who like to visit majiyama island. Besides that, I like to enjoy their breakfast although not many choise (compare with 4 or 5 star hotel), but the food was nice."

"Hotel is great to escape to. Feels like a minimalist home with warm, cosy vibe. Tasteful real wood furniture and aesthetics. Onsen has waterproof tatami floor and special stone tiles. No night view out across the bay due to steam. Best to try onsen during sunset. Excellent buffet breakfast and dinner using local ingredients. But Miyajima is a victim of its own success. Local and foreign tourists rampage during the day. Much shameful, intrusive behaviour from foreign tourists on the shrine grounds. Chatty local teens on school tours fill most of the daylight hours. Good that there is little vehicular traffic. Best to stay over couple of nights to catch the tides and moonlight for memorable Itsukushima shrine and Torii views. Skip the Momijidani Park walk. Tourist herds have trampled the path into a sodden wasteland."

"We had a room with private bath for 3. It was very cozy, clean and we enjoyed the sitting area by the balcony where we could watch the sunset and the loads of tourists snapping photos of the shrine during its low tide. It is quiet although it is located in a rather busy location with lots of good eateries within a very short walk. Please check with the friendly staff where to eat the Ramee (#7 on their map for restaurants). It is REALLY the best bowl we have eaten since we arrived Japan 20 days ago. Not salty like most but full of flavour! If you enjoy hiking, please hike to its mountain top, the sunset scene is far more worth than taking photos of the shrine in its low tide. There are 3 trails to get up and down. We started with the longest trail and came down by the mid trail. 3 hours but was already pitch dark at 6pm. So do plan earlier as we started off late. Will surely return to Sakuraya on our next visit to enjoy its communal hot bathroom! "

Staff are sincere with helping us getting the bath house & Cruise. Would recommend to try some of the seafood shad (e.g. Shimada Suisan) nearby for a fun seafood experience, just make sure to be back for Cruise on time!"

"My decision to go on a trip was very sudden, so I didn't have much choice in booking a hotel two days before the stay. I chose a Japanese-style single room at Auberge Mizuhaso and was not disappointed in the least. The room looks traditional but with a modern feel, including a huge plazma TV (which I didn't get to watch). Air conditioning goes without saying. You get the futon laid out at the agreed time - mine was ready before I came back from sightseeing. Same goes with the traditional bath. The room itself has a lavatory, but bathrooms are separate, and the big tub will be filled with hot water when you want it to. The hotel provides yukatas for home wear. Regarding breakfast, there is a choice between continental and Japanese style, and I went with the latter. The meal was huge, meaning about a dozen various okazu that I don't know the names for, miso soup, white rice, fish, and local-style bacon and eggs (served raw on a small heater). Add fruit for dessert. Delicious! The hotel is located next to the Aquarium, on the opposite side of the Itsukushima Shrine than the ferry pier, about the same distance. Walking there is not a problem, even with luggage. The place is nice and quiet. The sole issue I'd point out is Internet access. As a guest, you are supposed to receive a 2-hour access password by email, but if you are using web-based mail service, you are stuck. Of course, the staff do their best to help, but the system is not exactly convenient. "
