A really cheap, no-frills hostel. Staff was never present (a good or bad thing, depending on your style) and cleanliness was to be desired (especially the bath). However, for the price, it was a very comfortable room with a private bathroom. Location is excellent too.

Cheap room with private bathroom”
This hostel is quite a long walk from Hiroshima Station. Front desk only available for a few hours during day time, they will send you instructions on how to auto check in using a tablet outside the door which will provide password to a locker which has your room key. My room was quite dusty, that was a strand of short curly hair inside the fridge (you can only guess what body hair it was), room was not clean daily. The rate of the room was so cheap so I guess only minimum cleaning was provided. If you want a cheap room with private bathroom, this is probably for you, else not recommended due to distance and cleanliness issue.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Hiroshima Wabisabi Hostel. Our family room with private bathroom was very clean and comfortable. The only negative was that it was a bit small and unfortunately no lift in the building. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall it was good. L from Australia

Great Hotel, real private room”
Most hotels we have been too in Japan offered fake private rooms: double room in a dormitory or paper walls. Wabisabi offers a real double room with private bathroom like a hotel should. the staff is very nice, we arrived early morning by Willer bus and the cleaned our room asap. They also kepts our bags until 22:00 for our night bus. The hotel is quiet and relaxing. The only issue is that you cannot cook. There is only a microwave and a kettle I would highly recommend this place for couples.

Free coffee (single drip, instant) and tea provided free of charge. Cups, plates, forks and spoons are all provided in common pantry. Also a microwave oven and hot water dispenser. We made good use of the common area for group chats and meals. Wabisabi is located a Level 2 (1st floor) with stairs access only. Those with many or heavy luggages maybe slightly inconvenience by this.

We only dtayed for 1 night. The accomodation is in a perfect location within walking distance to the main attractions in Hiroshima. Our room 305 had a nice window, private bathroom, TV, aircon. The bed matress was japanese style so it was extremely thin and hard. There is free coffee and tea on a little kitchen near the main desk. Check in is at 4pm, we arrived at 6am to Hiroshima, but they only store bags from 1pm, so we had to rent a locker at the station. I suggest that the hostel should change that policy.

Clean, good location, very friendly & helpful staff but no lift & hard beds.”
Good sized, clean 'twin' room & very quiet with no view. Can access the Hiroshima loop bus on JR pass which is helpful. A reasonable walk from the station but definitely doable even with luggage! No lifts, but the lovely male staff member was happy to carry up our bags the three flights. Beds were tatami with a thin mattress which very very hard to sleep on and in the traditional way shoes are left at reception and slippers provided.

Facilities are provided well (washing machine, hotplate, pot, fridge...); the room is clean; the staff is patient and enthusiastic to help. And it is very sweet to provide a more blanket. This blanket really help to make me sleep well in cold night. The location is walking 15-20 mins away from JR Hiroshima Station.

We found a supporting English speaking staff, a well equipped and super clean room, fridge and ac inside, everything was brand new and the little kitchen offered tea and coffee 24 hours. Towels, razors, toothbrushes, washcloths and yucatas were provided as many as you needed. We could store our luggage for several hours up to our departure. High quality accomodation for good price. Small Dark Budget Room..”
Good: There were two large double beds in a small room that left little room to move around. The location of the property was about a 15 minute walk from Hiroshima train station and also the shopping arcades and restaurant area. There are many buses or trams that will take you to the Bomb Dome and Museum or you can walk it in about 30 minutes. Bad: The room is small and the bathroom on-suite is even smaller. You’re unable to open the curtains because neighbours can see in so the room is extremely dark and cold. The reception staff will ignore you unless you say hello first. The shower works fine after you’ve mastered the fine tuning.
