"Good value for money even though the rooms are slightly on the smaller side. The free daily mini bar is a great touch and one I appreciated a lot. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. I didn't have a chance to check out the facilities but my friends told me the pool was very small. I didn't eat at the hotel restaurant either. Location was almost slap bang in the centre of District 1. There are a couple of good Japanese and Vietnamese restaurants opposite/adjacent to the hotel. Depending on how fast you walk you are about a 5-10 min walk away to the "centre" where the Park Hyatt is."

"Duc Voung hotel with its central location in District 1 is ideal for artwork/painting enthusiast as it has a number of neighboring small galleries. There are also a good number of choices of dining outlets, bars, art and crafts shops just few steps away from the hotel. Even for first timer vacationer in that part of Ho Chi Minh city's District 1, small malls like the Zen Plaza along Nguyen Trai, a local market, groceries are so conveniently accessible. Best of all, the hotel staff are so attentive and friendly. Its budget rate is best enjoyed by booking through agoda. "The Rex Hotel has a lot of old Indochina charm and I'm glad we tried it . We booked the Rex Suite, since we like a spacious room. In the photo it showed a king bed only, which is what we wanted. What we got was a king bed plus another bed alongside. That left little space on one side of the bed and only one night table for one person. There is a partition in the room so that there is a small sitting area when you walk in the door with some, pretty stiff looking furniture. The bathroom is older decor, a little tired, and the "blackout" curtains had gaps at the sides and allowed light throughout, more like greyout curtains. The wood floors look good but creak when you walk on them. The breakfast is definitely the best we've had in our many stays in Saigon and the pool and health club were lovely. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Ran out of time to try the spa, which had a good menu and not bad prices for a five star hotel. The location is good, especially if you like high end shopping. Overall it was pleasant; we will continue to stay at a more secluded hotel in District 1 when we return"

"this was our last hotel for our trip so we booked the balcony suite at a very reasonable price. very nice i have to say, definitely could get used to this. restaurant and housekeeping were good. front desk were good but hard to compare to some of the smaller and very personal places we stayed previously. location is great and a short walk or taxi to anything you would want to see in district 1. hotel seems very businessman orientated. great massage/spa. the attached bar is damn expensive but full of cute ladies who are probably just as pricey. at for a beer i was afraid to ask. "I would consider this hotel as our number one choice when we are in Ho Chi Minh City. It is the best for the money considering its location and the size of the room. You cannot find another hotel in district 1 that will offer the room that large. The breakfast buffet is nice with variety of disks and are freshly cooked and prepared daily. My wife loves their Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) for breakfast. We also enjoy very much the privilege of the VIP lounge that offers happy hours every day from 5 to 7PM. With all of that, I also want to mention the staff that we are very happy with their service that include: Tran Thi Minh Ha, Nguyen Thi Hong Yen, Huynh Kim Vui, Nguyen Phuong Tram, Lam My Dung, Nguyen Ngoc My, Lam Thi Cam Van, Nguyen Phuoc Tung, Tran Du Hien, Vu Ngoc Huy and Le Duc tai.
