"We only spent one night here but it was fantastic. After almost 16 hours, we arrived after 11pm where check-in was a breeze and staff were friendly. Just what we needed for our first taste of Japan. The location was excellent - just a quick walk from the Main Terminal. Easy to find (as its the only hotel on the island). Beds were comfy, rooms were quiet with brilliant blackout curtains (just what overnight travellers like ourselves needed. Why its very popular with Airline staff too) We had a standard twin room which had 2 comfy double beds which was just what we needed for a good nights sleep (mind you, we were a tad too excited to really sleep as we were in Japan!). Considering how close the hotel is to a busy international airport, you couldnt hear the planes (or trains as was also a Shinkansen nearby) The myth that all Japan hotel rooms are tiny was not true here as room was very big & great value for the money. Staff polite, efficient, helpful. The adjoining Airport is wonderful - lots of places to eat and shop and easy to get around. We would definitely stay here again if we visited lovely Japan"

"We booked here because the hotel has a shuttle service to the airport. It turned out to be free, very efficient and fast (make a reservation) As in all the hotels in which we stayed in Japan, the staff are welcoming and efficient. Our room on the 10th floor was spacious and as always in our experience in Japan super clean. Directly next to the railway station, Rinku Town, there is a large shopping centre with a food court and 5 or six restaurants. Easily a good place to spend your last night in Japan if you’re flying the next morning."

"My stay at Star Gate Hotel Kansai Airport was terrific. I was exhausted upon checking in and had no trouble falling asleep in the bed provided. When I awoke, I made myself explore the area for a little- a decision that turned out to be a smashing success by discovering an amazing shopping outlet that shocked me with how long it went on for. Without even seeing the water, you get a sense that you are walking around a trendy beach town community. For dinner and breakfast, I ate at the buffet offered on the top floor and was very impressed both times. The spread they have is professionally-crafted and everything was delicious. The man who made my omelette was this very kind Australian man who took note that I was one of a few Western tourists and we talked for a little about what brought us to Japan. My experience at Star Gate was only positive and it will be where I stay during my next trip to Osaka. "

"Clean, convenient hotel. Booked a twin single room for 2 and pretty sure was upgraded to double room with 2 double beds and sofa on the 12th floor with a great view of the city and temple below. More than enough room for two. One interesting thing is that you had to place your bum all the way to the back of the toilet seat in order for the bidet to work (they had a sign placed on the bathroom instructing you) otherwise the bidet did not function. No problem, just strange, never had to sit so far back before. Two train stops from Kansai Airport, 490 yen pp. 5 mins walk to Izumisano train station. There is a COOP supermarket across the "street" (more like a lane by American road standards), and another supermarket kitty corner to the back of the hotel on the same street as the temple. While they do have hotel shuttle very limited service hours so did not use them. Check in/out very quick and efficient. Ate dinner at hotel restaurant, tatami room, good food, good service, no English spoken but still able for staff and us to communicate. Did not partake of the breakfast in the morning. As others have commented not much in the way of tourist sights but enjoyed walking the city taking in Japanese life. The Rinku outlet shopping mall is the stop between hotel and KIX. High end outlets, not really our thing. Preferred wandering the SEACLE shops next to the outlet mall and riding the Ferris wheel. There are lockers and stores with baggage storage (300-400 yen per bag) so we didn't have to schlep our bags while there. "

"We booked this hotel because we have to catch an early flight going out from Osaka. This was the best option that we could possibly had. The location is good, +/- 200m from Izumisano station and just 1 station away from Rinku Premium Outlet, which is high recommended for hunting branded items with low prices. We were even regretful to go there at the very last day of our visit in Japan. For travelers who has early flight to catch or late night arrival, this is recommended for you. But for travelers who want to explore Osaka downtown city more, of course this is not the one, since it is very far from the city and will cost you dearly. The train going for and back to Izumisano is the airport line, which is not covered on Osaka daily pass. The hotel also provide shuttle minivan for pick up and deliver guest to the airport, which is very good facility. The room that we got was in the new building (they had the old and building, do ask for rooms in new building) so it was very decent. It needs more walk though to access the new building but still considerable. We had room in 8th floor and the view to the Bay area was awesome, with the Izumisano flyer stands high."
