Find Bungalows in Koh Kood, Thailand

The best activity is to take kayak and go to see waterfalls. It is beautiful island worth for visit. You have all of beauty of the island just for yourself - almost no tourist. On the another hand... resorts are more expensive and a lot of restaurants has garbage close to it and it looks like the cleanness of the island is problem here, not like on Koh Mak. But if you go to see these islands you have to go on Koh Kood at least for 3 night (we were 4) and enjoy the beaches (beaches are the best. Only one better was on Ko Kham - white and beautiful (small island close to Koh Mak - kayak range).

Shops and restaurants are usually closed by 9 or 10PM. If you are looking for nightlife and entertainment, you may be disappointed. There are a few great bars that play live music. Seafood is amazing. There are a few attractions that you need to rent a scooter to visit, otherwise just relax on the beach, bring a book and enjoy the sound of the water hitting the shore :)

it will at least take 5 hours and it is best if you stay at the city of Trat overnight or catch the last flight from Trat to BKK if you attempt to leave the island on the same day. Better yet, just take a ferry back to BKK or a bus. You see so much more and it is a much more of a pleasant trip interacting with the locals. Just realize Koh Kood is far away, but worth the trip.

The beaches are great and the jungle had some nice waterfall with small lake to swim at, and there are also huge trees in the jungle , worth paying a visit.

Its a good fun to hire a motorbike and ride aroung the island, certain part of the island feels like a jungle. Completely different from the other touristy islands of Thailand. You will shared the beach with only a handful of people and there are no vendors trying to sell you stuffs.

I would 100% go back as soon as possible. There isn't too much to do on the island besides going to the beach. We did a short hike to a waterfall and did a day long snorkeling tour with BB Divers. Would definitely recommend doing that. It's definitely not a place to party so if that's what you are looking for I would recommend going to Koh Chang instead. Koh Kood is a place for people to unwind, unplug, and debrief.

...for the time being....not destroyed by mass tourism. Come here for 07:00-19:00....don't come here for 19:00-07:00.

Koh Kood is still in a very good condition in term of humans invade and destroy the beautiful nature so that's why cost of living in this island is high. I like Koh Kood very much.

The beaches are nice and quiet!

There are two waterfall on the island and it worth visiting, very quiet and has a big pond to swim in. Book yourself a good resort and do check if the resort has a restaurant and bar, if it hasn't then you should looking for a room with a mini bar/ fridge if you want cold beer. Almost everything on the island close around 9.

...if you want over commercialization and busy bars/restaurants this is not the place for you

It is a perfect place to relax and explore. There is not much to do other than enjoy the food and lovely beaches. If you need more nightlife you can always pop up to Koh Chiang for a day or two.
